I know the consensus is there is no need to break in a chrome lined barrel such as this, and maybe that statement answers my own question, but would anyone suggest a certain 5.56 round count down range before using my CMMG .22 conversion BCG?
I think my other thread with this same content was moved because I included photos.
Personally, me being me, I would fire a round or two of .223/5.56 down the tube before going to unplated/un-copper washed/unjacketed .22lr just for the sake of clearing any burrs from the gas port. Is it necessary? No, but it would make me feel better.
If I had a brand new upper at the range and had a bunch of .22lr but forgot my 5.56, I wouldn’t hesitate to just shoot the .22lr.
