One of my neighbors had a ND today, with his .45. It went through his front door through my next door neighbors garage door through the interior wall before being stopped it the back exterior wall. No one was hit, they were not home yet. When they did come home, obviously they wondered what the hell happened. They called the sheriffs dept, and tried to figure out what happened. While they were looking around, they noticed the neighbor across the street replacing the front door with his back door. Not only did the jerk not come to check if anyone was hurt, but he was trying to cover up what happened. The deputies took his pistol, I don’t know what charges will follow if any. The jerk should have been man enough to own up to his own mistake
Thank God no one was hurt. That guy should have immediately checked on the neighbors and then called LE right after it happened.
That’s what I would have done if it happened to me. <knock on wood>
Dumbass.
I’d be rightly pissed if some dipshit put a round through my door, especially if he didn’t check to make sure nobody got hurt.
Had he simply manned up he “might” have avoided LE involvement.
“One of my neighbors had a AD today, with his .45.” A familiar refrain with the 1911 crowd.
While his actions were wrong, I understand why he tried covering it up.
I mean seriously, who the fuck wants to deal with the cops!?
I’d bet that 99% of cops out there don’t want to deal with cops.
If he had hurt/killed sombody, well he’s done anyway regardless of covering it up or calling the police.
Another hater who can’t control an M1911!!! Too cute! A familiar refrain from 9mm advocates who could’nt man up to a .45!! :D:D:D
Maybe after you reach/pass pubescense!
dog
Crapping on cops, and personal attacks. I give this thread 'till lunchtime before lockdown.
Way to go guys. Awesome way to jack up a good thread.
No one is crapping on the cops.
If you were refering to my post, that’s just reality. Get a taste.
Show me a person who hopes to deal with law enforcement after doing something illegal.
Only thugs and criminals have anything to hide.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that another “adult” threw responsibility and civic duty to the wind.
By not notifying the authorities, he has eliminated any argument that he attempted to rectify the situation in a civil suit, which is probably all but guaranteed, opening up said suit will most likely bring recuperation of the cost of property damages/repairs at the least.
Unless the neighbor is “really cool” this dude is lookin’ at a headache.
I’m sorry, but if I ND’d into a neighbor’s crib, I’d be over there ASAP after dialing 911. Admission of guilt or not, I’m taking the moral high-ground in an attempt to hold on to my dignity, and claiming responsibility for my actions.
But, you know, that’s just me.
I suppose letting LEOs figure it out and come knocking is, like, the hip thing to do.
Determining trajectory at those distances isn’t exactly rocket surgery.
I took your initial post as a huge crap on LEO’s. The neighbor didn’t do anything illegal having an ND, and your belief that he did shows your narrow-minded thought process and indicates how you would have handled the situation as well. Glad you’re not my neighbor.
From the information provided and he truely had a ND, he should have immediately check on the welfare of whomever could have been injured and then spoken with the home owners about paying for damages. It would have been up to the neighbor if they wanted to involve LE. The only people who do not wish to have LE present are the ones that have something to hide or are ignorant of the law or how the process works.
This is actually true. When I talked to my next door neighbor, they said that they were understood that it was an accident. They had only called the sheriffs dept when they did not know what happened and was thinking something different. He said, that if the guy had come over to check if he had hit anyone, and pay for damages then they would have never called the authorities, and would have been acceptable to a simple apology. Since he instead tried to cover it up, they are rather pissed.
Things like this remind me to get a bucket filled with sand to aim into.
what a complete A-hole…A child or anybody could of been harmed,<to try to cover his tracks would IMO would be a Hefty fine or even jail time…
The neighbor didn’t do anything illegal having an ND
He thought he did, otherwise why cover anything up?
Like I said, while his actions after the ND were wrong, I can understand why.
I can’t. There is always a fucking weasel in any given population and this guy is defiantly the neighborhood weasel. One I’d keep an eye on. A weasel always has his best interest in the front of his mind, way in front of everyone else. Proof that he was more inclined to cover up what he did, rather to check to see if anyone was injured. Every community should set up a neighborhood watch, just for weasels. They do more damage because you don’t know that they are a weasel, until something goes sideways.
Uh…Just because it was a .45 we assume it was a 1911??? What if it was a .45 Long Colt???![]()
Piss-poor gunhandling and a lack of personal responsibility
This is one of those people that give all gunowners a black eye
Or an XD or P220, etc…
The fault isn’t in the weapon platform, it’s in the trigger puller.
I agree with you rharris2163, I’d keep an eye on this jerk.
And I’d pursue a civil case for a much as my lawyer could get out of him.
He failed to man up, nobody should cry for him if he has to pay up.
i’m surprised i’m the first one to ask these questions…
How do we know he didn’t check on anyone?
How do we know he was trying to cover it up?
