I am looking to get a light mount I can use on my ak and ar. I want to mount them off the top rail and have them actuated with my support hand(left hand). The ar has a 15" rail and the ak has a ultimak tube. I have a light that I can use and it has a 1" body.
Here is a pic of light and set up. I know the IWC setup won’t work and I spoke to Earl about it. I think the Vltor won’t work because the head of the light will slammed into the sight and/or rail. The light head has a OD of 1.5".
Will the Gearsector work. I need help please.

I have a sure fire M79 for sale in the EE section you may want to look into . It’s 1 inch but adjustable, let me know your thoughts, I believe it will work perfect for you
Nope.
I’m looking for a offset mount for 1" lights. I’m concerned the light bezel will be hitting the rail.
I gotcha,… The gear sector 6P offset is prob what you want then.
As I said I would just either look at the GS offset mount, the M79 sit a tad out.
worse case what ever you do , a piece of tape on the light or rail should solve the issue or even a padded piece if tape…
You might also look into the VTAC mount.
the Larue mounts don’t tuck the lights in very tight.

Sir with that larger bezel I think you need the DD offset mount, it’s quite a bit taller than some of the others and should space the light far enough away it won’t rub anything. I think there is even one in the EE right now. The VTAC is much shorter. In terms of how “tall” they are its VTAC, Gear selector then DD.
I’m considering the “height” from the base of the mount to the top of the ring, the “offset” has nothing to do with how tall it is.
