I know there are threads about sidefolders, but I have a more specific question.
What do you think is the most durable sidefolder for an AK, that DOESN’T require mods to the receiver?
and I’d prefer a decent cheekweld, but it’s not that big a deal.
Don’t care about looks or price, just those 2 criteria.
Thanks

I like the Beryl side folder. They are hard to come by lately, but if you are patient, they do show up on various forums for sale, as well at RTG.

For the exact request a Beryl is the better choice.
I ,by far, prefer 100 Series side folders. They require a notch to the receiver though.

Polish Tantal wire side folder + cheek riser from AMD65Tech is prolly a lot more obtainable.

This.
Had an AMD Tech riser on a Romanian wire folder, I removed it as it did not allow the rifle to be charged with the stock folded.

Oh forgot about the Bonsteel Arms/CNC Warrior stock. They get pretty good reviews.
I have tried the wire folders, ACE, and 100-series. Bonesteel/CNC plus a CTR is my favorite combination, with apologies to the purists.
I have a Chinese folding stock on my AK 103.
I have found it to be extreamly strong.
The actual work it took to do the job wasn’t easy.
I took that photo while reshaping it to fit. It wasn’t yet finished, but you get the idea it isn’t exactly plug and play.
That looks good, I’ve never seen those Chinese stocks with black panels only Bakelite, and I have never seen them available anywhere except on imported air rifles which I’ve known guys on some of the AK forums to re-purpose on real rifles.
If I may, where did you find yours?
I picked it up over at One Source Tactical years ago.
It is a very solid piece.
