I decided to to give the Droid based smartphone a try so I got the Samsung Infuse 4G. It has the latest Android operating system and has he fastest processor yet.
So far I am really liking this phone except for its gigantic size. It looks like a mini tablet compared to my iPhone but it does much much more compared to the iPhone IMO. Here is a pic that I took of my new Samsung Infuse next to my iPhone 3G.
OK that made me giggle a lot hehehe OH man
that is huge compared I know the case makes it seem bigger but YIKES
at times would not mind a larger screen ? but not sure I want that in my pants ?
thanks for the pics though very curious what you think so far compared ?
might stick with my iphone since we are all mac design company sync calendars and are Ipad aps share etc…
still on 3Gs phone and not so happy with some things
That’s totally not fair! You have a very heavy duty case (otter?) on the infuse and the iPhone is naked. I have 4.3 inch screen and I love it. I may even go 5 inch someday.
I thought the gingerbread OS was not being released until the new dual core phones come out unless you got it third party. In anycase I’m not going to root this phone.
I am still waiting for ‘THE’ single device - I want true Garmin GPS funtionality with Google earth/maps overlays. Full iPod like media funtionality and hardened to at least Garmin Rino standards. If it did all of this I wouldn’t care if it were the size of a small paperback novel.
You have two choices. 1) Wait for it to be pushed to you by Verizon 2) On 1 June go into your settings, go to about phone, and then search for updates. 3) Go to androidcentral.com, go to the Droid X forum and find the thread about gingerbread and download and install it yourself.
I have Verizon’s new Thunderbolt. That 4G network is amazing and the 4.3" screen is huge! I thought about a iPhone until I looked at the specs of other phones. It was no comparison to go with an Android OS.
