My new Huldra 5.45

I recently purchased the 5.45 carbine and I just wanted to say thank you for making a quality gun! Just wish you guys offered it setup like the elite! I wouldve spent that extra money on thay! After a weekend of shooting at the new indoor range both my brother inlaw and i cleaned our guns. He’s got a DI style and of course mines the piston style. While cleaning out the bolt carrier group i noticed how much easier it was for me to clean mine just a little bit of cleaner on a rag and it wiped clean (and I was using the russian surplus ammo from a tin can) meanwhile my brother inlaw was literally using tools to scrap his parts clean! So as far as cleaning the gun the piston system definitly as the advantage!!! Also we put more rounds through the 5.45 then he did through his gun. Also we did inspect for any wear but the gun looked as good as new. We did make it to your range both saturday and sunday and I just wanted to give you some feedback from that. first off itd be nice to see a little more selection for flip up sights. i bought the pmag ones you had on the shelf and had to take them back they both seemed to be defective. The rear when flipped up slanted to one side and the front was really tough to adjust because the little ball mechanism didnt work properly so i was forced to return them. Also I love the new range but did find that the target at 50 yards was tough to see so itd be nice to possibly have a little more light on the target. Also in the booth itd be nice to have an extra light to flip on for when your trying to adjust your sights or to see if theres something wrong with the gun. But reguardless its the best indoor range ive been to so thank you for that eperience! Its just to bad i live 2 hours from there. But I love what you guys are doing there and what huldra is all about i cant wait to do business with either you guys or the new store again I will definitely be back for more shooting soon plus I have my eye on the 24/7 you guys had sitting in the case! Thanks again and if theres any type of packages to buy to make mine like the tactical elite let me know ill definitely do some business with you!

I shoot there frequently and agree its an excellent range. Also a great Pro Shop…everything from reloading eqpt to plate carriers. I have a couple of buddies that recently bought three Huldras between them and I agree it appears to be an excellent rifle.

Did you look at their Korstog line? I dont know much about it but was told that its essentially same gun as Hudra but DI instead of gas piston.

Believe me with how well they seem to be running Huldra i expect great stuff from Korstog

Thanks for the feedback! The shooting range has been a new adventure for us, but it’s great and a nice addition to the community.

I’m not into the internet discussion board but I had to thank Stewart & the Huldra team for making a very accurate & nice AR15. 2 years ago I was looking into getting my first military style semi-auto rifle. I’ve been shooting for over 20 years & I’m into precision shooting. I’ve been looking at a piston operated Patriot AR15 at Cabelas or the Huldra Tactical Elite at Mill’s. The guys at Cabelas told me that they wouldn’t trust or recommend the Huldra, even though they didn’t know anything about it. They said things like, “It’s a poor quality compared to the Patriot AR’s & You don’t want to trust a piston AR’s made by Huldra.” To me, the guys at Cabelas were giving me more of a sales pitch. But after careful inspection of the Huldra Tactical Elite, I decided to buy it. I also got a Nikon 3-12x42 scope for my Huldra Tactical Elite. I am very amazed at the build quality of my Huldra Tactical Elite, but I was even more amazed at the accuracy. I shot at 100 yards on a bench, using Federal 55gr 5.56 XM193 ammo. I took 20 shots per target & I was getting very tight groups. The groups were just as tight as my tactical bolt action rifles. The Federal 55gr 5.56 ammo I used weren’t match grade ammo. They were from a bulk & loose rounds I had bought. I was getting more accurate shots with the 5.56 ammo, than compared to .223 ammo. I’ve been waiting to get the Huldra 5.45 carbine for over a year, I might just go get a different rifle.

Here are my past five targets I’ve shot at 100 yards, bench, using Federal 55gr, 5.56 XM193 ammo:

Here’s my Huldra Mark IV 5.45x39.

Huldra guarantees their rifles to be capable of 1 MOA accuracy.

Found this thread by accident, not a fan of the 5-6 Huldra’s that I’ve seen come into the range. Hope that they are getting better then they were a few years ago. I know that Stuart Mills is a son of the owners of Fleet Farm, but fleet farm isn’t the place most people go to learn about guns. I once had a 17 girl tell me that Smith and Wesson named it M&P because it was issued to all military and police departments. I’d really like to see Huldra become a great AR manufacture, now that the Freedom Group owns DPMS I feel as though Minnesota is left in the Cold, no pun intended.

Thanks for the photos guys, looking good!

What is it that you weren’t a fan of? Being that we have only been around a a little while (2011) Im not sure how long you mean by a “few years ago.” We continunly work on employee training of products, some firearms are new to the stores but if you can provide feedback we are alsways happy to hear how we can make the experience better.

Thanks
Dave
