My new Colt LE6920 - Are these issues to be concerned about?

I’m a little bit of a noob when it comes to AR 15’s. Got this new colt…about 500 rounds through it. Picture one…notice the small dend/scratch on the right side of the hammer. Picture number 2, notice the paint gone on the inside of the upper…doen’t feel rough or anything but looks like something scratched off the finish. Picture number 3…notice I’m shaving a bit of brass…notice the slightly messed up area on the bottom of the case…this is what all brands of ammo look like in both 556 and 223. Never any failures…heard this kind of thing can be buffer tube or pressure/timing problems…but should I be concerned? Thanks.

Hammer is normal.
That’s not paint, it’s moly dry lube and it wears off.
And you have strong, solid extraction.

Nothing to worry about.

You should have seen the crop circles that were on the lowers a few years ago.

Looks like high pressure to me…

From PMC?
I’m not seeing a flattened primer here.
I see a dent from the ejector and I’d wager that on the opposite side of the case is a mark from the extractor.
I’d also wager that if the OP disassembled his BCG, the brass shavings would be concentrated mostly around his extractor.

The more you shoot it, the more wear you’re going to see…Perfectly normal…

Nothing high-pressure there. Looks totally normal. An over-pressure primer would show some metal flow and the firing pin indentation would be pushed back flush with the breech face.

No problems here. A self-loading rifle is going to mark up the brass a bit. Nature of the beast.

Ck back after 10000 rounds. Your fine for now bro.

Learn something new everyday. I thought ejector swipes were signs of high pressure, guess not.

No. Shoot it and stop worrying about normal wear issues.

With the rush/panic… I see more of these threads in the future.

Shoot the hell out of it!!

They’re great rifles. Shoot it, as it is modular you can replace worn parts after the several thousands or more rounds it will take to wear any out.

yes indeed, the feeding frenzy will bring out more people that want to know about their new rifle

That’s the way I see it too. Just a bunch of folks trying to learn about their new rifles from a good source.

With the layout on top of each section the moderators have done a great job of posting sticky’s for the common questions and for reference by new and old members.

If you own a 6920 your only issue should be acquiring enough ammo.

Dont listen to these guys, “shoot it shoot it shoot it” Send it to me, its broke. Ill break it in for you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice gun Buddy, you done good.
