My .308 Bushmaster LR-308 battle rifle, under 10#

Just wanted to share my recent find/buy.

I was looking for a .30 cal for my hog hunting hobby, which I do at-least once a month for the past 3 years.
I was about to buy another AK when this popped up in my local classifieds.

Bushmaster LR-308 MOE factory built. 7.92 lbs unloaded. 34" collapsed length

16" 4150 chrome lined Chamber & bore BMP 1/10 7.62x51
Mid-length gas system
I would call it a medium/heavy profile barrel, it is thicker under the hand guards, and tapers down to .750 after the gas block.

Only thing I did was add a oring to the extractor spring and add a Leupold VXR 1.25-4 and Burris pepr mount. 11.5 oz & 8.7oz

Weight unloaded, according to manufacturer specs from these direct sources.

Should weigh in at 9.18 lbs unloaded, then add 1.5 for a loaded pmag 10.6 lbs loaded!
I will confirm once I have a scale I can trust.

I have taken it hunting already but didn’t get to shoot a hog, but shot some for accuracy off truck bed and was getting around 2" at 100yds with PPU 168 OTM. Plenty good for what I do. A free floater will be added in the future though and maybe an adjustable gas block and suppressor, hopefully.
Also was banging steel at 200 and 300 yards with 147gr ball pretty easily. Head sized target. Has been thru 200 rounds with out a hiccup. From steel cased Tula and 6 other ammo types I’ve used.

I just bought a VX-R 1.25-4. I was going to put it on an M4. I do have a M&P 10. How do you like this scope so far this application? I have the Mark AR in 1.5-4 on an M4 and I just love it. Both these scopes have a variable intensity electronic dot, so your dot sight must be for backup. One is none and two is one.

Nice looking rifle

I think it is just right for my needs.
Super clear glass, adjustable red illumination reticle, light weight, capped turrets, tough and CQB to mid range capable.

I mostly stalk hunt at night with green and red kill lights and I can see out past 200p yards easy with this scope at night.

I was shooting head sized steel targets at 300 yards pretty easy too, just using Kentucky windage a little at 300 with a 100 yard zero.

I just used the red dot that one day and gave it back to my buddy (cheap BSA micro dot, just in there for pictures) . I just keep the scope on 1.25 zoom with the dot on and I’m only a hair slower to get on close range targets vs a RDS.

I’m probably going to get 2 new QD scope mounts to replace the Burris and add a high zoom scope so I can stretch it out to around 600 yards and see how it does and for those days I feel like plinking at distance.
