Moving in State: Need to do anything?

Hello!

I’ve done a search on the internet, skimmed the ATF handbook linked in this forum, and have not found conclusive information on what to do.

I bought a suppressor using a trust, and have a Form 4 with tax stamp. I moved to a new address (same area code) only a mile away from my old address, and was wondering what I needed to do be in the clear in the ATF’s good graces.

Some people online advise moving in state, i don’t need to do anything. Can anyone confirm, or advise otherwise? The ATF keeps record of my address, so is there a procedure for getting it updated?

Thanks for you help!

The answer is on the back of your F4.

Change of Address: …the registrant shall notify the NFA branch…in writing, of any change to the address in Item 2a.

Do you need to get a new Form 4 from the ATF when this occurs?

Just file a 5320.20 (two signed originals, which you can use the website below to generate a PDF). Check No in box 2, “Permanent Change of Address” in box 5, and “Private vehicle” in box 8.

You should get it back in 2-3 weeks.
