Mk12 Mod 0 upgrade

Last night, I did some work on my Mk12 Mod 0 SPR. For a few years now, I have been using a C3 billet lower on it. To be correct, it should have been an A1 lower. A few weeks ago, I ordered a black Nodak Spud lower (NDS-16A1) and I finally got around to picking it up last night. Got it home and, during the Ohio/Illinois game, I got the new lower built and a few parts changed over from the other lower. I put everything back together and took some pics this morning.

Now it looks more like it should have from the beginning. :usa:

I now have another issue. What am I going to build with the C3 lower now? Hmmm?

That is a really fine looking rifle my friend! So, how does she shoot?

great looking shooter you have there. no dak’s lowers are top notch. i just received a F1 back on mine a couple of weeks ago and it quickly turned it into a colt model 653sb clone , my version of the “Barnes” rifle.

absolutely beautiful

is she chrome lined?

It shoots extremely well. With Mk262 ammo, I am getting .75-1.0MOA@100 yds.

Very nice, that A1 lower finishes it off well. I’m a sucker for clones, esp MK12s.

A clone that does work. I feel a bit bad because of how jealous I am.

Just another update. I took the Mk12 out to the range this morning and shot some Romanian-made SS109 ammo I bought a while back. I cannot remember where or exactly when I bought it. I have about 1k rounds of this stuff. Anyhow, I was not sure what to expect with this ammo. The rifle was sighted with Mk262 ammo and I have not had to adjust the settings since. Well, this stuff worked great. It was just as accurate @ 100 yards as the Mk262. At one time, I was shooting head shots and put two rounds in the same hole right in the center of the forehead. This rifle is so accurate it is not funny. I think I may be using more of this ammo in the Mk12 in the future.

BTW, with this new lower, for some reason the safety selector is as slick as butter. It functions perfectly, but it takes very little pressure to move it and it is really quite. It stays in position and there is just a very slight click when you flip it from one position to another. I like it.

That is a gorgeous Mod 0. I think a Mod H is going to be my next build.

Renegade very nice build

I put together a MK 12 also
Got bored and started experimenting …

Tubbs Flat Wire Buffer Spring in A5 Extension.
Then the Carrier group…Sharps Relible Bolt with my Modifications 5 Coil Extractor with Black insert, Titaminun Firing Pin, McFarland One Gas Ring…and ordered a Rotating cam key.

Awesome MK12 , now you just need to scuff it up some bit from the range.
