Milling NiBx slide

I am picking up a NiBx G19 and I would like to do some lightening cuts and porting … Possibly milling for a RMR as well.

My question is how hard is the NiBx coating? Is this going to mess up my shops tooling? We try to not mill out Melonited stuff because it is too hard and since we are borrowing machine time from a partner business we prefer to not waste their tooling.

Would it be possible/better to blast the NiB off first and then do the cutting and then refinish again? If so what media do you suggest for this?

If I can cut directly through the NiB what would you suggest for refinishing the raw spots? Could I just send it to you after for a recoat or would you have to remove all of it again anyways.

Lastly if I did remove the NiB and I wanted to refinish in Melonite would I likely have tolerance issues?

Nickel Boron is relatively soft.

If you like the coating I would have it refinished with NiB.

NiB-X is 72 Rockwell so you can just cut through it. I would send it back here and have it refinished then you are done. We will remove our finished and replate the slide.
