manurhin mr73 information and links

Hey guys,

I am looking into getting one of these so I have been doing some research. Since I was unable to find any useful central repository of info I will include the useful links I found here.

Of course Wiki gets you going…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manurhin_MR_73

Mike Zeleny does an amazing, scholarly job (this is the must read of the bunch)…

Leroy Thompson has some sort of “gunshop talk” info here…

Maxim Popenker …the grand daddy of all useful web gun resources…

Here is a PDF of the manual…

There are a few guys on 1911addicts forum that are hardcore Manhurin fans.
Might check out their revo sub forum.

Surprised he hasn’t done a video on a standard model since he is in to French stuff.

I have owned one and now I want another. Extremely well made and accurate. I’d gladly trade my Python for one now.

Thanks for the links, always useful. I had read M. Zeleny’s extensive work, also on the Sig P210.

I bought a brand new one made by Chappuis Armes in December 2007. It’s a beautiful gun, very well made with an amazing deep blueing.

It’s a very accurate revolver too, with a great trigger both in SA and DA mode

Gorgeous! I should be able to pick up mine tomorrow.

Mine came in today! Gorgeous!

I had them swap out the rubber grips for the service grips so the gun could be carried.

First of all, he fit and finish is absurd. The blueing makes my old 70s python look like an RG. It is just so ridiculously deep. The straw on the trigger and hammer looks like something off a $6000 custom shop gun.

The trigger is technically perfect. It might be a bit heavy but it really doesn’t matter because 1. It is so roller bearing smooth and 2. It is fully adjustable.

The lock up is perfect. Everything is perfect to look at. It reminds me of an Old Model 19 if God had a custom shop.

I did find one downside. The rear sight has two dots and the front sight is a serrated blade. It’s fine, but it looks odd to me. There is a definite contrast but I guess this French site setup is weird to me. Almost the opposite of what I like. I may have to blank out the rear. Interestingly, the front sight is roll pinned on so I guess I could order a replacement and have it sent to tool tech and have them install a gold bead for even, blasphemous, tritium. More likely I will just blank out the rear dots. I am too used to the other way around.

I CANNOT wait to shoot this thing. If I can get in tomorrow afternoon I am going to sneak down and test fire this gorgeous beast.

So mad I missed them when they come in a few years ago for under a G! Now they’re out of my price range

I just want to verify that new Manurhin MR73s go for about $3200…

Because I’m not much for revolvers, but a Manurhin MR73 has always intrigued me. But I’m not sure I want to throw three grand at one.

Let’s not discuss that. Too depressing.

Oh. Oof.

It’s definitely got to be something you really want. I would rather have this than another fancy 1911, but let’s not pretend any of this makes sense! lol

Going to be difficult getting someone to argue that your Manhurin isn’t gorgeous, if not high art.

Exquisite handgun.

What size speedloader does this take?

Safariland Comp 2 or 3

Thank you!

Greg, there is a really good Manurhin thread over on Pistol-Forum.

And we’ll want pics of those targets, Counselor.

Very nice snag. That is definitely one of my grail guns.

I shot 50 rounds this weekend. The trigger is amazingly smooth. It reminds me more of my Langdon Tactical 92 DA than my Smith revolvers. I want to find some clear instructions on how to adjust the trigger before I get bold.

I fixed the rear only dots by filling them with a black crayon. That should do and be reversible down the road.

HKS 10-A also work well

I am jealous. Been wanting one of these for awhile, but just can’t justify ordering one sight unseen.
