I ain’t no genius but I’m pretty sure this is BAD.
He wasn’t shooting anything hot, no Kaboom. The gun just felt wrong in recoil after the last round.
He said Glock is asking him to send it in; they were less than direct in providing a position as to whether they would replace the frame under warranty or not. I honestly can’t imagine that they wouldn’t…
Has anyone else seen this on the Gen 4 or any Glocks?
…someone is messing with the serial number plate, from above or below.
…someone gets an accessory stuck on the rail, and muscles it off.
…someone “improves” or modifies the rail dims in some way.
…a VFG is installed and muscles off the gun.
Low stress area, not subject to excess heat, friction, or impact. Not impossible that it’s a defect, but not my first thought.
That does not look good. Never seen anything like that. Glock has great customer service. Out of curiosity, did that frame have the infamous “pig nose” that someone tried to fix with boiling water? I have read somewhere that boiling water can create weakness in polymer frames. Let us know what they tell your friend.
Like most people, I’ve seen all sorts of kBs and such from various manufacturers. I don’t believe I have ever seen anything like this. Odd for a low stress part
THAT was my point…to see if this was more than a sample of 1. It looks that it’s just that. I’m sure Glock will fix it. I just wanted to check and see if there were any others out here.
