Is there a commercially available replacement buttpad for this stock that provides a little more padding, support than the enhanced buttpad? Ive looked at a design from limbsaver specifically made for the magpul stocks, but it didn’t work for the MOE rifle stock. I like the stock, but don’t like the stock recoil pad and the fact it is rough after about 50 rounds. Im open to suggestions.
I just ordered a .70 rubber pad from Midwayusa two weeks ago. Suits me fine. Keep in mind everyone has a personal preference. It will fit the moe ar stock.
You can replace the original butt pad with a PRS Entended Rubber Butt Pad (https://www.magpul.com/products/prs®-extended-rubber-butt-pad--0-80) which adds approximately 1/2" to the length of the stock.
What set up are you using it on?
That’s what I was wondering…I wasn’t sure if the the MOE buttpad ws compatible, good to know the PRS one is.
I have a colt le 6920 with magpul accessories with the exception of buis. I ordered the Larue Pro made from steel, rather than the magpul made from plastic. They’re probably fine, but I wanted one not so easily broken. I ordered my buttplate from midwayusa. If I remember correctly, it was $18 dollars. There is not enough recoil with 5.56 to notice to me. But I wanted a thicker pad. They actually make three thicknesses: standard, then I believe .50, and the .70.

Im using this on my AR-10 with Magpul MOE rifle stock. Its a solid rifle, but the stock pad seems a little too hard and doesn’t mesh well with my bad shoulder and collar bone. I don’t have the issue with my bolt gun, but I ran into it on this rifle. Im rebarreling it this weekend, so I thought I would do a couple other things also and see if it can get a little better set up for me.

Your second linked recoil pad will not work with the MOE rifle stock. Just wanted to let others who may be looking know. But if someone wants one for the other stocks, I have one I will sell.

Yeah, that’s a good rifle. The stock pad is the same as the one on the PRS which is just over 1/4" thick. I think you’ll like the extended butt pad from the link I sent you.

This one is stated to work with the MOE in the description.
It works with the MOE Carbine stocks, but not the MOE fixed rifle stock.
