MAGPUL DYNAMICS TESTING MASSADA/ACR??????

Question?

Since Magpul was the conceptual designers for the MASSADA which is now known as the ACR, has Magpul Dynamics done any field testing?

I have trained with them twice in the last six months, and when asked, they say they have received no test rifles and cannot comment yet on rifle’s accuracy and reliability since they have yet to gain first hand knowledge. Knowing of an impending ACR release, will Magpul Dynamics have an opportunity to run the ACR through it’s paces in the field? It is widely known that T&E rifles are out there, yet Magpul Dynamics has none to test? I would think that they would play a part in the T&E of a rifle that they designed from conception.

Is there some reason for this?

We all know the high level of industry and operational credibility that Travis Haley and Chris Costa have. I would think that Remington would want these guys running and testing these rifles since they have at minimum an intellectual vested interest in the project from the start. I would also think they would have received the first rifles off the line.

It would really suck if the rifles hit the street and were less than exceptional like every other product that Magpul and Magpul Dynamics has played a part in no matter how minimal.

Anyone know what the deal is with this?

Very good question… As when several LE asked at our last class, MPD really couldn’t answer. It wasn’t like a evasive were not talking about it, more like, beats the hell out of me…

Well, Drake Clark (uhm, I think.) had one in use at a Magpul Dynamics advanced carbine class. It can be seen in the AOTTC 2 DVD.

Pretty sure that was one of the original Magpul prototypes. NOT a BM or Remington ACR prototype.

We do run allot of rounds through guns every year through our Dynamics Test & Evaluation services. Travis and I go through numerous barrel changes through weapons like our Knights guns, S&W, and BCM guns just to test the human element behind it. When people ask us questions about the ACR, we can only comment on the Masada because that was Magpuls girl, the ACR is slightly different with some more enhancements that should be great. However we can’t comment on anything else because frankly we don’t know, Remington is doing there part now… and if they want us involved they will ask.

One thing to understand is I don’t get on here and breakdown every little piece of my gun, We could all give a reason why we run or don’t run a certain piece of KIT. You should run what works for YOU based on the environment you might be operating in, whether it is home defense, overseas’s or assigned to NF5 It’s all up to you in the end. Guns and accessories are always changing and WERE always evolving based on philosophy and nature of being a training company first. So what you see us run today may not be the same a year from now.

What speaks louder than words for Travis and I is the moment you see us running something, because were running it because it passed all our requirements.

So this confirms they are not T/E although Magpul did design it… Boy if this thing has faults… Flame suits will be on…
