I have a friend that just bought an Sig Tango 1-6 I think it was. Sub $300 with mount. I thought it was decent for the price.
If you know this market, what cheap 1-6 would you be looking at for consideration.

PA GLx 1-6 ACSS on the secondary market. I just ,looked and it looks like the they stopped making the 1-6’s variants of the GLx and stayed with the 1-10 that’s almost three times more than your budget.
Pros:
Not made in China.
Excellent light gathering
Simplest range finder that requires zero math
Horseshoe ring
Cons:
Weighs a like brick and feels like a brick on top of your rifle
If bumped too hard it can lose zero. But you have to actually thump it very, very hard to do so
Not daylight bright
I bought two PA optics years ago for dirt cheap that were pretty good. Gave one to our buddy at our ranch and one to my son. Both were great for the price.

I had the Swampfox 1x10 and while it was wicked clear and adjustment and tracking were spot on the eye box sucked (small/tight) so I sold it. I heard good things about the 1x8 Arken but have not seen or looked through one yet. here is a link if ya want to take a look. EP-8 1-8x28 FFP LPVO | Illum. KLBOX | 34mm Tube (arkenopticsusa.com) Also if ya haven’t PB check out cyclops joe a pretty much a no BS kinda guy and will give you his real thoughts on any scope he reviews. Not sure if he has done the 1x8 Arken yet but watch a few of his vids if ya want and you’ll get a feel for how he thinks. Also pretty funny dude. (6798) cyclops joe - YouTube
Burris RT-6 would be my choice as long as you aren’t hunting it at dusk. I own several of the Tango scopes as well and in daylight the glass on the Burris seems better.
I was having serious issues during the last 1/2 hour of light last year and figured out it wasn’t my eyes, it was the RT-6 showing where the costs were cut.
Primary Arms SLx 1-6 NOVA and ACSS NOVA are super great for the price. Clarity and eye box are on point with stuff coming in at over $1000. Weight is decent and size isn’t to terrible compared to other options.
Thanks guys. I have a friend with a young boy that is going to be big game hunting in the coming years. I thought my youth REM 700 270 with brake and a1-6 with forgiving eyebox would be just the ticket for 150 yards and in.
This is where some of motivation has started.

They also have a 1-6 for $199 with the discount code. It’s MOA however, and the reticle is a little busy for a younger shooter.
Some guy did a full power Arken scope comparison against an ATACR, and the Arken really compared well at a much lower price.
Slight deviation, how about one of the 1.25-4Ă— Leupold scopes? Quite a few current and discontinued models to choose from.
For a Remington 700 .270 I would just put the classic 3-9x40 on it. Good up close yet can still run up to 9x for a longer shot. And since this isn’t a “tactical” scope you can get pretty decent quality at a good price.
I never thought I’d say this…but Primary Arms SLX Nova 1-6. It dethroned the Trijicon Credo 1-6/Delta Stryker 1-6 as best under $1000. More so it’s only $300 bucks
and rivals the Razor 1-6 in terms of 1x performance. Crazy crazy times we’re living in…
Since it is intended for hunting, I’d want to see low light test results for any low cost LPVO option.
I swapped out my RT-6 on my hunting rig for a Trij 1-8…We shall see this year how it performs.
I have a friend that sold me a Delta MRAD 1-6 Stryker HD for about half price. The glass quality is top notch and I like MRAD. Wish it had a little more info in the reticle for hold overs but love its MRAD.
It was a few bucks more than I wanted to spend but it feels like quality. I’ll toss it on an AR to play with it long before it lands on a Youth rifle.

Burris RT-6, not made in China… made in the P.I. using Japanese glass. The were just on sale for 3 bills through Midway, typically under 4.
I have a Leupold Mark 3 HD, Non Illuminated, BDC Duplex reticle I’ve been very happy with. It’s a 1.5-4X. Glass is very clear, holds are close enough for my needs and it seems to be very well made. I found it on sale with a leupold mount for $399.
Even better if you can find an illuminated version. It’s bright.
My son purchased a 1-6X Razor knockoff from Alliexpress for under $200 with a nice mount. I won’t say it is an exact copy, but it’s pretty impressive. He put it on an M&P 15-22.
Thanks. I didn’t know that these were being cloned as well. One more to avoid on the secondary market when the price appears to be “too good”.
I wonder if Vortex can ID a knockoff for us if we ask them to verify?
If you have not spent a lot of time behind a Gen2 Razor, you may have a hard time seeing the difference. One thing that I noticed on the ocular is that the glass has a more noticeable convex, while the original is much flatter.
It would be interesting to see which one holds up better. A friend has the original on his SCAR 17 and it killed one in less than 300 rounds.
I have one…its not a bad price for a range gun but i wish the hashmarks were numbered. Weight isn’t too bad and the glass is decent.
