So I’m looking to setup a hots rifle for my M203 I ordered, (no hurrythanks BATF), anyway I’m going with a 14.5, and plan on permantly attaching a AAC Blackout or Brakeout, so I can attach my M4 2000, right now though its such a hard call between the LMT and or BCM, which is the preferred here? I have compared both, and unless I’m missing some thinng the BCM being cheaper and all other things equal, seems to be the winner, Am I missing something?
If you can believe whats floating around on the errornet, the LMT might shoot a little bit better than the BCM. DD, however, makes one with a CHF barrel for just a bit more. M4s profiles aren’t bench rest shooters, it’s just something to think about.
203s, if barrel mounted, destroy precision in most cases.
Get whatever has the appropriate barrel profile and 203 cut and is readily available.
Not if it’s rail mounted on a MRP;)

If it’s traditionally mounted, I would agree…

I thought about that, but I dont know, looking for a M4gery. What can you tell me about the LMTs rail mount? It looks like the barrel mount is a little closer.
I have accuracy AR,s this is purely a host for the M203, I’m not looking for accuracy from this setup, more of a shooter, that has a little extra. BCMs site shows, the LMT, and both the standard BCM M4 and SF upper in stock.
I own a LMT 14.5" carbine and it is GTG. BCM carbine would be GTG also. Both top quality.
Plus 1 for LMT. They cryogenicly (im sure its misspelled) treat their barrels which supposedly aligns the molecules for better strength and accuracy. But you cant go wrong with either. I personally went LMT though.
I have an LMT 14.5" upper. I have nothing wrong to say about it. ![]()
I’m really not to familiar with it pal beyond the discussions Ive had with a good friend who works at LMT. No first hand experience so I really cannot speak on them.
LMT sells a M203 Mounting Hardware Kit with Leaf Sight Assembly

They also sell a Quadrant Sight with Rail Grabber Assembly

These things are sure awesome:cool:

I own both, I would go with which ever is better for your budget. Less money spent on a high quality rifle = more money spent practicing.
If I were to buy an LMT M203, and could actually afford it I would go with an LMT 14.5" M4 Upper, barrel mount the M203, and just suck up the other $200 tax stamp. Then again I have a “thing” for the issued Colt M4 with a RAS and an M203.
^—Thats what I’m doing, but LMT instead of Colt, mainly due to cost and availabilty. I went LMT, it was a hard call between the BCM SOCOM, and the LMT, but when I went bact to order the BCM was out of stock, so it endeded up a easy descsion.
FWIW, I have been very happy with my BCM 14.5 w/ PA FH in my M4gery configuration.
I had a LMT rail mount M203 9 inch barrel. I used it on my MRP. 10.5 and 14.5 barrels were used with no difference in accuracy when attached or detached.
The taper pins in the BCM FSB make that my pick over LMT every day of the week. LMT uses straight pins. Not a huge deal… but since they’re in the same price range… why not pick the one that is made RIGHT??
Could you explain why you are getting a DD and are not getting an SBR?
There is a flaw here…
Not to distract from the thread, but what can you do with an M203 without the grenades to go with it? Just curious ![]()
From a practical perspective not much, but from a fun perspective chalk, smoke, flares, etc. are all a lot of fun.
