Has any body gotten one of these yet ? Please give hands on input:confused:
They have not been released.

A member here was at LMT a few weeks ago and shot one (in full auto). Perhaps he will post his opinion. Hear that Scot?
Must be a special T&E model as they have NOT released them to dealers yet.

Grant,
Will there be a retro fit kit avialable?
Yes there will be a conversion kit for CQB MRP owners.
ā¦
Yep.

From what I have been able to research, it looks like it is a complete barrel assembly. Is that correct?
The conversion kit is the barrel assembly and a new BCG. If you already have a CQB MRP, the conversion kit will include everything you need.
Correct.

I canāt believe there is no more updated info on these or possible release dates.
Does anyone know if the MRP retrofit kits will be available from the start or will only the full rifles/uppers be available for a while and then a year later the retrofit?
Has LMT stated anything about the Rifle-length MRP pistons?
I have one on order from LMT and what I was told when I ordered mine was that the estimated date for shipping was ā15 weeksā which would put it at the end of this month. The longest barrel available will be 16" if Iām not mistaken.
I have one on order also , should get it in september . Seems like forever
Sweet, canāt wait to hear how they run!
There will be NO GP Rifle length MRPās. The gas piston mounts just in front of the CQB rail, and is exposed for easy access. The rail does not cover it. I think they made it this way on purpose.
Itās very low profile though, unlike some others Iāve seen.
I would just like to know what the current status is, in regards to the long wait that weāve all been enduring. By this I mean:
-Has LMT just been refining/fine tuning the system, by making needed adjustments that they have found the system to need?
OR
-Has LMT just been hard at it, machining up tons of these GP kits, which is all thatās taking so much time?
OR
-Has LMT just been too busy with DI orders to even get to the machining of the GP kits yet?
OR
-Does LMT feel they have already come up with the finalized end product, and now they are simply running a number of the prototype T&E models through their paces for thousands of rounds, just to be sure theyāve worked out all the quirks before they hit the market???
I donāt expect them to spill their guts with ALL the details, but it would be nice to get a āhey guys, weāre still tooling up for these things, and need a few more weeksā, OR, āhey guys, weāre still wringing out 10-20 of these new GP units to make SURE the design is GTGāā¦
SOMETHING would be nice.
I suspect they are just machining them out, and all the kinks have been worked out of the system. I honestly donāt think this GP kit is going to have many problems, such as that of LWRC, POF, etc.
I canāt be sure, and this is purely speculation, but Iām betting the LMT will be right there with the 416 in reliability.
I just wish LMT would get the ball rolling on the 6.8 piston gun.
Does anyone even know what the difference would be between the 5.56 and 6.8 system? I mean, I think the bbl diameters are the exact same on the 5.56 and 6.8, so WHAT would be the difference in the 5.56 and 6.8 GP systems???
I cannot think of ANY difference(s) that would exist, between the 5.56 and 6.8 piston parts? Can anyone else?
Iām guessing the system will have to come with a new bolt carrier for the carrier tilt problems that everyone is experiencing.
ā¦maybe thatās what the hold up is.
LMT has assured me that they definitely addressed this issue, and their GP system totally solves the problem of any carrier tilt.
That is exactly what I was told anyway. I tend to believe them.
Just an FYI, for anyone who didnāt know, and was concerned.
