I looking to replace my HD sights and thought these would be an excellent replacement. Does any if you or has any of you bought these sight and, would prefer them over the trijicon hd’s?

what is the philosphy behind the u shaped notches?
Supposedly, “helps you get in target faster”. I’ve shot with the hd’s and regular trijicon’s and I am faster on target with the hd’s because of the “u” and bright front dot.

Just ordered some they’ll be here Thursday I’ll let you know what I think I’ve been using 10-8, warren tactical mostly. My wilson has the combat sights which are pretty similar to these and I love them so I was pretty excited when these came out.
Why the FING Hell are these parkerized? That is just…lazy…
I just installed a rear onto a friends G19 and im not impressed. The rear sight draws too much of my attention to it. There are simply too many surfaces, lines and other BS going on for ME to consider this an effective rear sight. I will stick to Warren, 10-8, and Trijicon rear sights if i desire a U-Notch.
I had significant trouble actually finding my front sight and ive got a pretty good naturally trained index. I found that my vision wanted to focus on the rear instead of the front which is hugely abnormal for me. As i mentioned prior, there is way too much variable depth to the rear and instead of finding a crystal clear front sight, i was consistently experiencing a crystal clear rear. This has NEVER happened to me…The nice thing is that the sight sure is pretty!
Thankfully, the sights are on a buddies pistol. ![]()
Mysak when you get yours, let me know how they work out. Magsz, you make the sight/sights sound like they are just horrible. I admit they are new. It may just take some time to get used to just like the other u notch sights.

Ghost,
Im not one to bash someone else’s product but i dont think the sight is a good design. From a mechanical engineering standpoint, the install was easy, they were properly dimensioned and the dual set screw method of securing the sight was a nice addition.
Having said that, for ME, there is WAY too much garbage going on with the rear sight. A rear sight is supposed to be a reference point for your front sight, nothing more. It is supposed to always be a “blurred window”. Having THAT much going on with a rear sight, especially when it causes focal length issues, is contradictory to everything i know about shooting.
I flat out do not like the sight as it was a huge detriment to performance.
As far as getting used to the sight, meh. I have a ton of experience with competing U-notch sights and nothing about them takes any getting used to other than adjusting to differing light bar ratios.
Thanks, I can understand where you’re coming from.

I’ve never had an issue with the 1911 sights which practically identical as far as too much going on are you talking about the serrations to the rear sight? Because other than that they seem as though they’re are jut dimensionally different to the 10-8 and warrens almost a hybrid of the two. I would like some further insight as if they are as bad as you are making them out to be I don’t want to bother.
There are serrations on the outer portion of the sight. The U notch itself is surrounded by a non serrated, circular cutout.
SO, you have your serrations, then you have the flat, circular cutout and then you have your u-notch in the middle of that cut out impression.
Its too much in my mind. They had to do SOMETHING to differentiate from the other u-notch sights on the market so they came up with a way to offer “hybrid” serrations. Its a gimmick and i find it to be hugely distracting. I also dont like the fact that the rear sight is grey rather than Black like every other sight on the darned market…
These are just an option in a sea of options and i DO like the .145 sized notch but i find these sights trying way too hard to be “unique”. I mean, beyond having Vickers’s and Wilson Combat’s name attached to them, what exactly are the selling points?
On my competition G34 and other competitive shooters Glocks I’ve done sights on, I prefer the Warren Tactical Sevigny sights. However, for my EDC G26 I’m using the Aimline sights with yellow rear and green front.
I agree with Magsz about the the Wilson sights being “too busy”.
For me was uniformity between my 1911 and glock which is what I shoot most right now. But if they’re gray that throws me
Off because the 1911 sights are black and the serrations on those don’t even render when I’m looking down them but I understand what your saying they’re nothing crazy new.
You said these sights are too busy but you use aimline which in my opinion are super busy.
Maybe it’s because I’m used to the yellow rear/green front that I don’t even notice the rear sights when I’m focused on the front sight.
I don’t see how anyone could have so much trouble with a Wilson rear sight.
They’re not my favorite, but they function as well as anything else out there.
They do not for me. Different strokes for different folks. I outlined the reasons as to why i dont like them and why they dont work well for me. It’s that simple.
Wilson sights are alright.
I am personally not a fan of the .145 wide rear and .125 front combo.
A .125 rear and a .115 or .110 front is optimal for me. Especially when taking shots a little further or throwing accuracy and speed into the mix. I think the U helps with calling shots as its super easy to tell if you are not lined up but I am just so used to a square. YMMV.
What front sights are compatible with the rear
Magz, how old are you(meaning your eyes specifically)?
I purchased new eyes last August.
Prior to last year i was corrected via contact lenses to 20/15.
I am now corrected in the same manner via PRK eye surgery to 20/15. There has been no change in my near sighted vision and i do not suffer from presbyopia…yet.
I am only 30.
Just a theory. That you have exceptional near vision and what someone a bit older may not notice bothers you.
