Larue tactical???

Honestly, if it were my gun I’d evaluate where I was with it. Since I already own a Ned’s staker and my buddy has a reamer, I’d pry ream and stake it, replace the bolt and shoot the shit out of it.

If I didn’t already have access to that stuff and if I lacked confidence in the piece, I’d just sell it complete, or sell just the upper and buy BCM/DD to replace it or the upper.

Very sound advice!!

and yes, LaRue makes an outstanding product (ok…pretty much everything Mark makes!) but the price point isn’t for everyone. As mentioned OP, shoot your DPMS untill it won’t shoot anymore, nothing to be ashamed of, I know folks that have the same rifles, and they’re very happy with them.

Of the two I think Spike’s MP tests, HP tests, and shot peens their’s. Can’t go wrong with BCM or Daniel Defense on those either. That extra bit of quality control may not make a bolt group better per say, but it betters the chances of not getting a potentially flawed one.

I believe Spikes has yet to release the data substantiating those statements and claims.

Larue I don’t believe does so either which is why his are considered “Texas” spec. That said I have never had or heard of an issue regarding his BCG’s other than when he had them labeled “mil-spec”…

I would recommend BCM, LMT, DD or Colt BCG’s. I think Grant is having a sale on LMT’s currently.

Best of luck.

+1 on the BS… Awesome customer service. I offered to send back a X300 mount I didn’t order. I Was told to keep it, their fault. Not to mention the dillos, dillo dust, and other free stuff they give out.

That dillo dust is GOOD stuff!

True dat! The hats, dillo tool and stickers are a nice touch too…

Seriously? I have had AWESOME customer service from LaRue. His products are top notch as well. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and their products.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=282&t=194245 I had heard they stepped up to the plate, but it’s good to see they made it official. And I certainly believe very few people probably have ever had issues with Larue BCG’s. I never really searched regarding it but can only remember ever seeing a couple cases of them breaking. On the other hand, would those bolts have survived HP testing? If they did, would they have passed the MP tests and been sent out to those customers?

I’m a massive skeptic though. I used to work for an engine building shop and whether it ate up profit or not, all engines hit the dyno before they were sent out. Of course the warranty is always there to fall back on, but we never had a customer complain about knowing they were receiving a tested and documented engine.

No problem. Glad you found the info that helped you make your decision.
