Just picked up my new LMT, a few pics and Thank you.

I’ve been lurking here for a long time, and have gained quite a bit of knowledge from you good folks. I picked up my new LMT MRP Piston, and I simply could not be happier with it. I haven’t yet put any rounds through it, but will soon. The quality, fit and finish on this rifle is absolutely fantastic, I am really impressed.

Thank you to all the good folks here that contribute their knowledge, opinions, and insight.

I’m thinking about pulling off and selling or trading the LMT sights, or at least the rear sights for some flip up/down BUIS to go along with some glass. Any suggestions on some flip up BUIS that would co-witness with an Aimpoint Micro?

A few pics with some Magpul lego’s.

very nice!! it’s hard to beat Troy flip sights.

let us know how it shoots.

I picked my LMT piston up after thanksgiving and I have to say I LOVE it! I shot 5 mags as fast as I could and the bolt was cold. I plan on buying a second one and having them both be my primary rifles. Will be nice to have 100% parts interchangeability when going to a class. I went with Magpul MBUS front and rear. I really like them and the price is great. I do feel the Troy sights are better however they are more than twice the price. Since they are for emergency use only I feel the Magpul MBUS is perfect in that role. If I wanted to shoot only irons I would use the factory LMT sights. I also have been trying out the new EOTech XPS2-0 and I have to say I am really happy with it. It will get moved over to another rifle with out so much rail space and I will be putting on a 1-4 optic on this rifle when extra funds allow.

Here is a pic of mine next to my new MSAR.

Man I want a LMT MRP. I am holding off on a piston until there is a mil-spec model or standardized model, but the LMT MRP just screams smart to me. Less parts, stiffer forend, and no chance of screwing simething up bridging the gap. And the LMT piston is my favorite of the piston systems.

Sharp looking battle gun Ride…well done.

You did just fine on the weapon… As far as co-witness, you can go with Troy BUIS and believe it would be a lower 1/3 co-witness…

How do you like the legos? I expected them to be a bit lower profile, lower than the XT, but they weren’t:(

Thanks all! I agree with those that like the MRP, it’s just an outstanding design, and rock solid.

The lego’s… well… I love all the mixing and different configs, it’s like “play-time” for adult’s  You are correct, they aren’t as low-profile as I’d like, but they do feel a bit more low-profile than the TangoDown covers. I’m considering dremeling off the raised bars, then stipling them. We’ll see.

I’ve had it less than 24 hrs, and already considering the next purchase… lol. I’m thinking the new LMT .308!!!

Thanks again!
