Is there a 5.56 bullet that can penetrate like .300 BLK SS?

Penetrate things like auto’s and common building materials.

I’m considering downsizing from .308 and getting a .300 blk or maybe a 7.62x39. But if a 5.56 bullet could penetrate materials similarly that would be a simpler way to go.

I’m pretty sure the answer is already, “No.” but I just thought I’d check. (Yes, I know, M995. can’t get that).

You mean, like meet the testing standards the FBI uses for pistols? (Don’t recall if they do the same for rifle)

Just in general.

The Federal 62 grain bonded soft point (T3 variants) rounds are barrier blind. Performance through glass, metal, sheet rock, etc… is very good. There are a lot of test results out there on the interwebs if you look.

Thanks. I’ll check that out.

But i couldn’t resist and have a .300 blk coming. Need to choose & order ammo because i have no .300 blk. Need to keep it out of my 5.56 chambers.

Pretty sure the Hornady 5.56 75 Grain TAP LE is supposed to pass FBI barrier protocol testing.

This is an old list from DocGKR
