Is anyone familiar with this 1911 Training Aid???

It has a few odd things about it–a cast (?) nonfunctional dummy piece? Looks WWII era, patterned after the A1s from that time.

Tell us more.

It appears that the firing pin channel has been cross-pinned, the thumb safety is different from the one’s from that era, the slide release appears to be swooped upward at the pad section and the magazine catch is unusual on the R.H. side.

That’s a model gun made by MGC.

I don’t think it’s a model gun. The models usually have authentic roll markings, and this gun has just about nothing except for a frame number and the warning on the slide. I think the cross pin in the firing pin channel is a clue that it’s a training dummy. The unusual magazine catch looks like it’s designed to not allow a real magazine to be held in place.
