I’ve been trying to find a belt that allowed me to keep most of my go to gear on a dedicated system so all I have to do is grab and go.
I’d like to see the following in the types of belts:

[li]velcro inner belt (wth velcro on the outside)
[/li][li]outer belt (with velcro in the inner lining to attach to the inner belt)
[/li][/ul]
I know Safariland has a version of this but it is very difficult to find both pieces from one vendor. One of the biggest problems is that a lot of these belts have a long wait time 2+ weeks build time before even being shipped.
DSGarms has them available now but they’re asking for about 100$ while everyone else stays at the 50-70$ mark
*Note: I did not want a “war belt” because about 85-90% of my gear is not molle compatible.
Would prefer a 1.75"
If any one has any input on these belts due to actually making them, or using them I would appreciate it. Thanks
Myself and some other guys over here are waring the DSG inner/outer belt setup.
It’s good kit. I bought it for range work but then ended up making it part of my gear setup for the moment.
I traded up from an Aries Ranger Belt (1.5"). I like the stability offered by the 1.75" belts. I also feel the larger belts don’t dig in as much when carrying a heavy load hours on end.
I know a lot of people talked up the Ares belt, but it seemed like too big of a chunk of change to hold up an edc kit.
I can see why the DSG would be your pick over the two, but once again I’m not seeing the justification in cost over its competition. Have you tried other belts similar to the DSG?
In my LIMITED experience 1.75 belts seem to do the trick better as you said.
Another guy out here ordered an inner belt from Tactical Tailor to use with a Cobra belt he bought somewhere else. Usually the outer belt has the loop side of the Velcro already sewn in. What I didn’t like about his setup was when he took the outer belt off, the inner belt had the hook side of the Velcro, which catches on everything and tears up your shirts.
The DSG setup has the hook Velcro on the outer belt and the loop Velcro on the inner belt allowing you to take your gear off and not worry about snagging every piece of thread an lint available. The DSG belt also has a hard plastic stiffener in the outer belt which is a nice feature.
I have not tried any other brand in this configuration, but I do own Cobra/Riggers belts by other companies. With the available options and my industry discount, the DSG seemed like the best choice for my intended purpose. I’m glad I bought it.
I’ve been using the US Grunt Gear contractor belt. It works very well, and is priced very well. My only complaint is the hook on the inner belt can be annoying without the outer belt attached.
The Double Alpha belts are very nice too. I bought one for my father to set him up for 3gun matches. They are more rigid, but the stitching isn’t as nice as the USGG belt.
A duty belt set up with keepers instead of hook and loop inner/outer might work better in a quick grab and go. If you keep it sized right it will hold steady with only a keeper on the back until you can snap the others on. Just another option to think about.
It’s hard to tell on their site, but the TYR Gunfighter belt has Velcro on the inside. It is shipped with padding attached to the Velcro. If you remove the padding it will link up to the generic bianchi inner belts or possibly the inner belts mentioned above.
I’m still playing with the gunfighter belt, but it isn’t too thick and you can slide on regular belt loop gear or use the MOLLE loops. I don’t have any range time with the setup yet so I can’t really give a full review.
