Immigration Reform

We have discussed this before, and I agree. This could potentially save me thousands of dollars and many months of waiting though:confused:

I wouldn’t hold your breath for the refund.

Yep people seem to have forgotten that the US was built upon immigration.

Though I don’t agree with Scott entirely, please point out where he mentioned race?

If the flood gates ever fully open, my retirement money is going towards leasing an old freighter to bring new citizens from shitholes in Africa over here by the thousands. I’m sure the liberals that vote for this shit will welcome them with open arms:rolleyes:

Don’t recall any family history about great, great grandpa swimming the Atlantic and hiding from ICE how about you? And no I have nothing against immigrants I work with them every day it’s the ones that fall into the illegal status that I question .

Our country was built on legal immigration. My great grandparents moved here from Austria and Russia after suffering through one too many Pogroms where whole towns of Jews were murdered. They moved here and ultimately thrived as a result of their hard work.

I have current family members who went through the arduous process of becoming legal residents and ultimately US citizens. Seeing their sacrifices, time, and energy spent as part of this process only further highlights how wrong it is to grant illegals any clemency.

I am a strong proponent of legal immigration. You want in to the US? Fine by me, so long as I don’t pay your way, you are able to contribute to our country (fiscally and societally), AND that you do it legally.

Correct but back them we opened the doors and the requirements were not as hard as they are today. I am all for letting people in that will work hard and I don’t support illegal immigration. But if you want to stop illegal immigration you start slamming the employers who hire these people and pay them under the table. If they can’t get work they won’t come. If they can get work they will. Its that simple.

Why is it so hard for some people to accept there is a difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration? Why do libtards always have to act so butt hurt about “my grandfather was an immigrant…yada yada?”

Well no fucking kidding?! Your family goes back to immigrants?!!! AMAZING!!! Unless you are native American (and even then some anthropologists believe THEY immigrated from Asia) then Yes, Virginia you are descended from IMMIGRANTS like the other 298 million Americans (yes I am subtracting some small percentage that MAY be truly native to this land forever). You are not special. You have no more special status to have an opinion from “the immigrant side” than me, or him, or most of those others.

THE ONLY BONE OF CONTENTION CONSERVATIVES HAVE WITH IMMIGRATION IS FUCKING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION OR UNLIMITED LEGAL IMMIGRATION WITH BENEFITS!! Can you get that through your thick heads? I have heard NO ONE say they are against LEGAL immigration when the immigrant comes here with skills to offer and competes on a fair field, and assimilates into our language and culture, you know like 298 million other Americans from other lands have done over the last 200+ years.

I don;t even have much problem with people who sneak across the border to make a better life, even though that is breaking a law itself. It is when they start demanding the right to vote, to in state tuition, to citizenship, to benefits, etc that torques me. If they want to sneak across, grab what work they can but acknowledge they are circumventing our laws and accept whatever consequences come their way then fine, I respect that. But when they demand to be treated like citizens while honest folks are standing in line for years waiting for a chance to immigrate I have no pity for those ingrates.

So, please take your butt hurt my grandad was an immigrant so all immigration is good for America crap and shove it. BTW, disagreement with immigration does not make one racist, please quit playing the liberal victimhood card, it is pathetic. My family came from all over Europe and my in-laws came from all over Central America, legally, and they despise border cheaters as much as I do. Thank you.

The doors have always been open but what has changed has been the requirements. Sorry if they missed the train not our fault !! You most understand the requirements must change over time. Holding private companies responsible for a national problem is just wrong.

How is it wrong to hold a private company accountable for hiring illegal immigrants? Frankly we would not have a problem with illegal immigration if no one hired them. I would also hold individuals accountable as well such as Republican congressman who have hired illegals to be their nanny’s and house keepers.

When the government turns its back prosecuting its on laws. A business owner can only price himself to his competitors if they can offer a lower price because they use illegal Labor they are forced in doing the same.

But if you prosecute every business you can find for doing this pretty soon the risk will out weigh the benefit. Also not saying the government should not enforce immigration. They should. But as long as their are jobs they will keep coming its like the war on drugs. As long as their are drug users willing to buy drugs their will always be drug dealers.

And another domino falls into palce . . .

Q: How do you eat an elephant?
A: One bite at a time.

The very fact that We the People’s elected representatives are endeavoring to make millions of law abiding gun owners in this country criminals while simultaneously striving to make millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS “legal” “citizens” is proof positive we are circling the bowl.

Pat you are right BUT they don’t I have no other way of telling you sorry. They politicians make loop holes to requirements to buy votes lawyers find loop holes the shit list continues with out end. I was at one point unemployed for almost 2yrs until Alabama passed the immigration law that was on national news then I got a call from my former employer that weekend I had my job back all his illegals had left. I watched that weekend as a stream of cars and trucks heading to Georgia on I -59 a year later I eventually got a better job at large steel Mill in the region.

It’s not and let’s call it what it is. Amnesty. They broke the law. Kick them out as we find them. If I rob a bank and I don’t get caught 30 years, will I get a pass because I’ll be separated from my family and have built a good life? Those illegals will be stealing opportunity from your children and grandchildren.

Exactly…

Well, you see, we have to have a reset because of all the laws we couldn’t enforce before so that we can come up with a whole new set of laws we won’t be able to enforce to secure the border that we’ve never shown the will to secure before.

Got it?

I know there are a lot of very nice, hard working Latin Americans that came here illegally. I have and still do, worked beside them for years. Some end up doing the right thing and strive toward citizenship or legal status.
The problem is: the rate at which they enter this country is astonishing. The funding for them flooding schools, taking on welfare programs, being used for cheap labor etc. We have an unemployment issue and fiscal issue now, how can we afford millions and millions of these folks to enter our country illegally, then be awarded for it?
Another issue is: way too many come here and do not assimilate. They have no intention to. Many stick together in tight knit Latin communities that speak only Spanish. I know many that have been here for years and barely speak English. That’s not right. Immigrants are to come here, legally, and do it to go for a better way of life and join the American society, not simply find work, send it home, and live as if you were back in your home country. Mexican president Vicente Fox has been heard saying to expand the borders of Mexico to the North.
Our ancestors came here yes. But they took on the American way of life and spoke English.
The borders must be strongly enforced. There’s evidence of gangs (a lage portion of our prisoners are young Latinos and its rising fast), our arrest rate for drugs through the border is estimated at 10%, plus Islamic terrorists are known to be in Latin America.

In 1965, Swimmer Kennedy assured us his immigration plan would not change the ethnic mix of the US and that poor, uneducated immigrants wouldn’t flood our cities.

In 1987, for Reagan’s signature he promised to secure the border and promised another amnesty would never be needed.

And now I’m supposed to believe they are going to secure the border, and finally work to stop illegal immigration?

This country is a joke.

Fixed it to reflect the truth more accurately.

How many times until people here on this site realize our leadership is & has been failing. They are not in touch.

The propaganda machine is in full bloom.
