Our constitution recognizes our God given rights.
Why do some supposed supporters of our god-given rights, have such a problem with God?
God never said you have to follow him, you can get all the rights & free will as his gift.
I figured this was a open form for general discussion, if I crossed ( no pun intended) the line, I do apologize.
I am not trying to offend, just surprised at the lack of knowledge of how important it is to keep God as our giver of rights (whether you believe or not) because if man even with his “morals” gives rights than man has the right to take your rights.
This is ment as a Pro Rights post not a religion debate.
Sorry if I offend anyone.
Our rights don’t come from a sky man with magic powers who will give you magical space life if you say his magic words.
Our rights come from the fact that we live and breathe. They are only defended and ensured by men who give their lives, not by magic sky man. Men have not given their lives to ensure the 2A remains a right in many centuries, and therefore it has eroded.
Tell, how much money does God donate to the FPC to fight anti-2A legislation?
20 years ago I would’ve made the argument that God, or some deity, is just a pre-renaissance Way of saying objective reason. There is no difference between God and objective reason. And God is always right, or he’s not very much of a God. God can’t be irrational. Unfortunately, in the intervening 20 years, the idea of objective reality has become problem to the people on the left. You can’t have a little girls calling themselves, little boys, or a lot of their other little silliness if there is an objective reality. They have become totally subjective. Interestingly, at the same time they have gotten to become less of a political movement, and more of a pseudo-religious movement, based on their own subjective view of Reality. The lefts war on objective reality also allows them to change the definition of anything so that you can keep the same verbiage, but change the meaning.
You can see that even in the second amendment issue with the laws that have been passed since Bruen. The left when they can actually wrap their head around Bruen finds ways to say that it doesn’t change that they can pretty much do whatever they want in regards to the second amendment right.
If God gave us rights, where is he when they are taken away by man? How come those men are not struck down by lighting for going against God’s design? And if this is a trial to see if you keep your devotion, then you’re telling me God is a sadist who wants to see you suffer in order to be accepted by him? That’s messed up.
One can easily argue for natural rights without believing that they were created by an omnipotent being residing in a different plane of existence.
The rights we have in this country are God given. Man in his natural state after Adam’s fall from grace is inherently evil. Only by turning to the Living God and seeking salvation by repentance of sins can we experience true goodness, love and mercy. It is your freewill to do or not to do this. God doesn’t promise a rose garden here on earth. Just the opposite. But he does bless those who stand with him.
I believe our desire for basic rights is inborn. The desire to live, to be free, the desire to be safe, the desire to express our thoughts and beliefs, to choose for oneself, …
The societal recognition of these core universal desires is expressed as “rights”. Governments can choose to respect or ignore these rights (usually the latter historically) but the universal desire for them remains.
I would say that rights are born from an inborn desire to survive and thrive that exists in all people. Now how that desire came to be within us is up to interpretation. You might say God created it, I might say it is a natural result of self consciousness.

Other men in countries don’t have our rights, what is different. Our founding men were smart enough to see value in putting God & free will he spoke of into our constitution. I don’t get the hate or anger about God, that’s the socialist dream take God out of the constitution. Just saying that wont end with more freedom, always rights are striped with out skyman.
Men are letting the rights be taken away, by those who don’t believe in God.
That’s my point we need to elect people who get the concept & promote the good of the idea God bestowed our rights for man, & not man created a God so man removes God then our rights.
It’s not about believing, It’s about preserving the rights we got. It’s kinda like saying I believe in gun rights but not that gun so go ahead & ban that gun. You can’t have one without the other.
I am talking about unity among like minded men.
We’re losing ground because politicians make it about believers vs non believers.
It’s really believers in freedom vs those that believe they know better.
My point is just what’s happening. I mentioned God given rights are better than man given rights in concept, & now I got a God doesn’t give us rights because…
The socialist are dividing us.
It’s irrelevant if you believe God exists or not on the basis of our rights.
If you believe God exists or not is important to us as individuals.
But it’s importan that we all recognize our rights come from God (a higher power)not man if the left can divide us over the word God we will lose our rights.
It worries me that is a hard concept today, because the other side uses this to divide us.
I think you have to separate the concept of rights from the possession of them. Our concept of rights comes from the fact that we have consciousness and self-awareness. Whether that flows from God or some other higher power is open to interpretation and subject to free will. Anyone who claims there is only “one truth”, shows a lack of imagination and intellectual curiosity. That’s of course, just my free will expressing itself, so take it with a grain of salt!
In tangible fact, I have only those rights which I can express and defend in society. If I feel overly burdened, I can exercise my rights to either effect change in that society, or discover another society better suited to my concept of rights. If I do neither, then I have used my right to choose in accepting suppression of my conceptual rights. For instance, if you think you have the right to “free speech”, go to a public venue and assert your right to say the “n-word”. You may have a right to say it, but you may not have a right to remain free from harm. Most people with a grasp of cause and effect, tend to choose self-suppression of free speech in that circumstance.
On the flip side of that coin, we conceptually do not have the right to harm another person in our own self-interest. Yet in practice our lives may include moments where that exact thing has happened, yet we experienced no consequences beyond those we imposed upon ourselves (guilt, self-loathing, self-punishment). The person harmed had a right to be free from our harm, but it happened and either they could not or would not defend their rights. At least for that moment in time, they did not in fact have that right beyond their concept of it.
At least that’s my philosophical take on life. Beyond that I’m just here for the ride.
… through man from God. Just as the Bible was written. Government buildings though out DC are covered in Christian biblical carvings, etc. The founding fathers talked about their reliance on the Bible and their belief in God for guidance in their writings . Not all of them, but a great majority.
As far as what is going on these days, why are the commies so afraid of God if they say he doesn’t exist?
There are devout Christians in so many other countries. There are many countries who are Christian nations. Why are their rights so fundamentally different from ours?
Ad hominem is directed against a person while ignoring the argument. If you read both his and mine, it’s plain as day my argument is directed towards his obvious logical fallacies.
