I love 300blk

I have been on the bandwagon since it was 300 whisper and my love for this cartridge has only grown.

I load it from mild to wild using a wide assortment of projectiles and brass types.

My current project is the NAS3 brass from shellshock which holds and extra 1.4 grains of Lil Gun or 1.8 grains of H110 under the 125gr TMK which nets me 2485fps and is laser accurate. This same load runs the 130gr Speer JFN at similar velocities and they expand incredibly well out to 175 yards.

I tried the 150gr Barnes tsx-fn and got good expansion out to 75 yards but after that it fell off pretty quickly.

With the oncoming ubiquity of suppressors and sbr’s, I think the popularity will continue to rise. I just wish the ammo was cheaper

What barrel length are you seeing those velocities out of? I’m guessing not an SBR.

Just curious.

I hope you are right. It would be great to see the price go down and popularity/availability go up. It is a nice cartridge.

The OP is more thoughtful than many of the 300 bo users I’ve met. We’ve never had love for the round because we have access to long distances. But his supersonic velocity load sounds like it might be fun to run out to some distances.

Definitely not

I have taken it to 500 yards. I have right at 62” of drop at that distance.

Very cool. That’s about 3.5 mils which is hanging with 5.56 and some heavy .308s.

My .300 blk rifle temps me to sell my last 5.56 gun so i never have to worry about firing a .300 blk in it accidentally.

I have a .308 for range / power.
