RE: X-PRE 1
September 20, 2011
Dear Stewart,
Thank you for your passion for shooting!
Enclosed you will find my sight-in target with my new X-PRE 1. The story goes like this: On Friday, I bought the rifle and Nikon 2x8 BDC 600 Scope. Saturday, I mounted the scope. On Sunday, I went to the DePere Sportsman’s Club range and sighted in my new X-PRE 1. I took two shots at 25 yards to make sure I could hit paper. I then took three shots to the right, adjusted 8 clicks over and 2 clicks up, and the final shot is where you see it!
I am very happy with my new rifle! The young fellow shooter that was helping me (an apparent real expert with AR’s) commented, “Nice grip; great trigger” after two shots.
He and the good people at Fleet Farm East Green Bay asked me why I didn’t take a 5th shot on target. I told them that I know when to quit and not ruin a good deer camp story!
Late Saturday afternoon, I went to the Fall 2011 Sports and Outdoor show at Lambeau Field and met John Humphrey of Adams Arms. He confirmed the dialogue between you and the CEO of Adams Arms when designing your line of Huldra rifles. Yes, you were creating these rifles just the way YOU wanted them for yourself, with just the right features.
I think you did a great job of refining the myriad of options possible to create a line of rifles that the rest of us really want. Your knowledge of AR rifles, combined with your passion to get these “right” has created an outstanding line of AR rifles. Thank you.
Sincerely,
XXXXXX
P.S. Your staff at the Green Bay East Fleet Farm deserve the credit for the sale. They were very patient with me, answered my questions and closed the sale. I think they deserve a “pat on the back” and their store should have a demo X-PRE 1. The Appleton store was the only store in my area to display the gun. I have invited any member of the Green Bay staff to join me at the shooting range to try the best rifle in my arsenal.
Nice letter, glad to hear of the feedback. Hopefully he’ll shoot some more and maybe send us another target or two. We’ll have to make sure he gets a t-shirt:).
Actually, we sent him some hats. I have been holding out on everyone. I had some sample hats made that turned out awesome. I still have a few left. I put in a order for 864 I liked them so much. The larger order should be here in a month or so. T-Shirts are still our main give away item, but we may be fazing them out in the future. T shirts get worn once a week at the most, hats every day. Also, trying to get the right sized shirts for everyone became a pain. Haven’t given up on Ts, it just time for hats.
I have been trying to see some of your rifles in person since first release. A check of various Farm and Fleet / Fleet Farm stores in MN and west-central WI didn’t produce any. Where can they be seen within a reasonable radius from MSP, Eau Claire, Lacrosse, etc?
We are not affiliated with Blain’s Farm Fleet. Very nice people. The founders were very good friends of my dad and uncle, who worked closely together in the early days as part of the same buying cooperative. You won’t find our rifles there, two separate businesses. The rifles are only available at Mills Fleet Farm. The closest one to Eau Claire is Menomonie. We have stores in the MSP area in Lakeville, Hudson (WI), Brooklyn park, Oakdale and Blaine. We have our rifles at all of our stores, although only 2/3 of the stores has the X-pre, but that may change in the next few months. The $1,999.00 Xpre has been selling surprisingly well. It is worth the money, but we didn’t think there was going to be a volume. Turns out we were wrong.
Indeed we will. We should have atleast 4 or 5 depending on what Stewart and Dave bring. I know they will have atleast 2 each and I will have mine. I’ll have to show you the group that I shot yesterday with mine. Covered all 5 rds with a penny at 50 yds. Would have been tighter but I pulled the last one. See ya tomorrow!
The evidence! Thanks for the post 128. See you tomorrow. I am going to bring only two rifles, the Tactical Elite’s that have AimPoints. I have some other rifles with assorted other optics: EOTechs, ACOGs, etc; I will leave those behind. I am going to bring that second rifle in case there someone wants to shoot part of the course with it. I am not going to promote it as I don’t want to disrupt Jeff’s course, only if someone asks.
