I am still really pissed off with Glock for the way they took older models off the market in a cave in to blue cities and states due to glock switches. Since it took criminals about 30 seconds to make Glock switches for the gen 6, it shows how really stupid the management of Glock is.
When Levis started pushing gun control I stopped buying Levis and all these years later still don’t buy them.
I am going to do the same thing with Glocks.
Here is the problem, due to Glocks being every where the after market support is off the charts and then you have B&T APC 9 that takes Glock mags etc. etc.
So my question is which of the Glock clones is the best one. Reliable like a Glock, just from some other company?
I do have to ask if your current Glocks need to be replaced? Why spend coin on replacing perfectly serviceable equipment?
If you’re going to spend coin to replace equipment why stay beholden to Glock architecture? At this point you know what holsters work for you and ordering a new holster to fit a new blaster isn’t the end of the world, and once you have 6-8 magazines you’re pretty much set.
Plenty of nice options out there that could fit the bill.
I am not going to replace my Glocks, I bought and paid for them a long time ago.
But I am looking for a replacement brand going forward. My company is going to be expanding in the near future and will be needed to outfitting staff with guns.
I of course new of Shadow Systems, but many people have said they aren’t reliable, so I wanted to ask here what people think is a good Glock replacement. I didn’t want to narrow the responses by only asking about Shadow Systems.
I’m a fan of the Ruger/Magpul clone after the patents expired, but not sure they’re going to expand their offerings. Also can’t say they’re worthy of being “outfitted” to a staff, just a good gen 3 clone option. I think I read there is a NH department issuing them, but it’s the internet, who knows?
The problem with all the Glock clones is that they’re all chambered in bitch faggot 9mm. I carry to stop threats not watch them slowly die while they bleed out but keep attacking. I went on a body cam footage marathon the other day, and the biggest take away was that 9mm is not acceptable. Threat stops are the exception, not the rule. Mag dumps are the norm now because the round is weak.
Thus, I’m stuck with the G22 and G35s I can scoop up for the moment.
In my first up close shooting with a handgun it was with a 1911 45acp and I emptied the pistol into the terrorist heart at bad breath range while he was trying to put a hatchet into me. The next guy behind me shot him once in the head with his rifle and ended it.
Part of the reason I like the Leighi defense round in 357sig is it gives rifle velocity out of a pistol and unlike other light weight rounds it isn’t a hollowpoint so I still get good penetration.
What I have learned about pistols is they all kind of suck and stopping power was dreamed up in the board room of a PR company..
So then when it comes to a pistol I want the best economy of motion I can get with fighting pistol. This boils down to how much motion do I have to do in order to put someone down with good hits. If the motion is trigger control and the bad guy goes down without me having to do a reload in the middle of it, this beats a pistol where I get stuck with a reload. So the longer my pistol can go bang before slide lock I view this as a good thing.
I am also completely done with Glock. I need a G29, the GEN 6 is a joke. And to be honest, I hated them after the GEN 5. They are not the same as they were in the 90’s and early 2000’s. I switched to HK and never looked back. I need a micro compact in 10mm. But i gave up on that and just using a VP9 with some seriously wicked pissah reloads.
I doubt they will make a G29 in gen 6, so I have lost all respect for them.
I am pretty sure the only reason they did the gen5 and 6 was to start the patents all over again, they were being outside by the gen 3 clones. I do not think any part is compatible between a gen 3 and gen 6 17.
Hell, even FN is making a better glock than glock.
It was Hydra Shock 230 grain hollow points that failed. Actually I think it is more a function of a 1911 just doesn’t carry enough ammo to allow you to transition when you encounter a failure. The human brain has enough oxygen in it to keep a person brain alive for a long time. With a 1911 when you got a guy on top of you with a hatchet and your fighting for your life good luck keeping track of how many shots you fired. I have a memory very strange the way I remember being shocked I was at slide lock.
Bottom line I think all pistols suck so if they all suck I want more bullets not less
I don’t think Glock did it to please Blue states. I think they did it because they wanted to redesign the extractor system (and optics mounting interface), and came up with the V series just to sell the extra units they had on hand.
But in any case, how many other companies have come out with changes to please the anti-gun BS? Remember S&W?
There are other options out there, but I would not give up on Glock because of that.
