I have tried the search feature and failed to find this discussion. Does anyone remember the discussion that was posted (over a year ago)in regards to the roof mounted AR-15 mount?
I’ll bet Red Jacket would make one for ya…
You need a mount for an AR-15?
I guess I have to ask this as well, why would you want one?
This reminds me of the times we’d send new Privates to supply to ask for a prick E7, grid squares, squelch grease and a mount for an M9. ![]()
I think he meant what’s in the title, i.e., “rack,” mounted to the interior upper panel of the passenger compartment.
For storage. Not a Pratt pintle-mount or anything like that…
I think I remember who posted it, he had the metallica logo with skull and crossbones flippin you off as his avatar http://www.phonezoo.com/WAPContentDetails.do?id=198194956 (like this but not green)
, and he lived in AZ or something. Senior member I think.
Were you looking for something like this: http://www.bigskyracks.com/
Had one come back with a cut up map:mad: So I sent him to look for soft spots in the Armor of an M109 after he did a Boom Check. ![]()
I remember it… but not where to find it. It was a 10.5" MOE setup right by the drivers visor in an H1 if I remember correctly.
Mabe something on this G-Lox outdoor products page is along the lines of what is being looked for?
Funny you should mention this. We had one of our 1LTs ask me for a PRC-E7. He kept saying it wrong so I had no idea what he wanted. An hour later he was still looking when he got the pronunciatiioin nearly right. I asked him if he was looking for a PRC-E7 and you should have seen his face. The warrants werre dying laughing. We asked who sent him on the task and it was the supply officer a 2LT. You gotta love Dustoff units.
That would be the one. I wanted to show the pilots here in the office some possible ways to mount your rifle. We have nothing but time on our hands over here. So we talk aboput guns, guns, and more guns. Every now and again we talk about optics.
I remember in AIT when an instructor sent a private around looking for an anal protrusion gage.
You could opt for a rig like this… would be my dream truck if I could ever afford one.

I seem to recall this as well. There was also a member here who devised a way to mount an AR to the ceiling of a Toyota FJ Cruiser IIRC.

Thanks Bro. I wonder if they would let me on Post with a roof mounted AR?
