Home Backup Power: Jackery 3600 Plus Kit for an Apartment?

I’m in Sacramento, renting an apartment, and trying to put together a basic backup power plan for outages (summer heat and the occasional winter storm). I don’t have a garage or room for a generator, so a battery-plus-solar setup seems like the only realistic option.

I keep coming back to the Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus solar generator kit as a starting point, but I’m unsure how practical it really is for apartment use. Panels would likely go on a balcony with limited sun, and I don’t know whether that’s enough to meaningfully recharge between outages. I’m also concerned about running a fridge or a small medical device overnight and whether the capacity covers that in real use.

There’s a fair amount of third-party information online, but I’d rather hear from people who actually run battery backup at home. For those with experience, what would you prioritize in a kit like this for a small apartment, and what would you avoid? Any input is appreciated.

I am in a similar situation. My understanding is that you can also charge it up from a socket like a battery. My big concern is that it might be a fire hazard. I honestly don’t know enough about it to comment.

XM4 appears to have called it with this prediction:

No link here, but an oddly specific posting listing a brand and model number.

What do you say Alex? Are you actually a person?
