The part about Little River and leeches that surprised me is most of it flows fairly fast and(from when/where i have felt it) fairly cold.
I was thinking more like slow or no flow water. The turtle mentioned earlier was in Buck Creek which is usually very slow flowing.
We do have humidity here, the temperature earlier was 79° with a “feels like” of 95°.
A guy who did some dozer work for my parents back in the 80s died from(or was seriously disabled from) Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
That was prior to deer in the area making a comeback which didn’t ramp up until the 90s. Lyme disease is fairly common in the area and I know a few people with Alpha Gal.
