So…I sent in my trusty Benchmade mini-gryptillian for the lifesharp service, and I received a practically new knife in return. Lifesharp is a service where benchmade will sharpen your knife forever for free (I send in five dollars for shipping). I carry my knife everyday, and in the 6 years that I’ve owned it, I managed to significantly dull the blade, crack the frame (when a car ran over the knife after a bike accident), and generally give it some “character”. They not only sharpened the blade to perfection, but they installed new thumb studs, an entirely NEW frame and frame “guts”. I received an e-mail stating that the knife had reached their shop and a tracking number when it left. I was already a customer for life (the quality of their knives are excellent IMHO), but now I’m even more convinced.
