I picked up an EoTech from a friend at work. It has always worked fine. I’ve messed with his rifle numerous times and it’s always worked. It worked fine the night I told him I’d buy it from him and he handed it over to me.
Whether it was necessary or not, I took the batteries out of it as I didn’t have a rifle to put it on. So now I have a rifle to put it on so I installed new batteries in it and it won’t turn on? I’ve checked to ensure that the batteries were in correctly and also tried to turn up the brightness in case it was all the way down for some reason…still nothing. Is there something I’m missing with this? Or did my shitty luck strike again?
What model? IIRC, if you turn on the NV models with the left button they power up in NV mode.
No, it’s the one that takes AA batt’s. I think it’s the 512? No NV capabilities as far as I know.
Turn it on and then push the button in the middle.
Also, do not run anything but Energizer lithiums in an Eotech.
Make sure you didn’t accidentally throw out the battery rubber buffers and springs from the battery compartment. They frequently fall out or remain attached to the batteries on the 512 and 552. Easy to tell if they one is missing by a slight rattling noise from the battery compartment. I had 10 spare compartments on hand at work to prevent this and other related EoTech problems.
That was my first thought as well. We had so many failures with our 552’s that I wanted to trash them all.
Damn ya’ll are good! You mentioned the little rubber pieces so I went to look on the shelf where I had the batteries next to the eotech. Sure enough I found one little round rubber piece with the spring in the middle lying on the shelf and found the other on the floor. Popped those back in and works like a charm!! Thanks alot guys, I sure do appreciate your help with this.
