I want to build a great home defense /hunting m4 can people please give me your opions ?
In my opinion an AR is a tool to do a job. Depending on what you are hunting you have to consider caliber. As a home defense gun I would suggest a red dot but that might not work for hunting. For HD I would suggest going the NFA route but that isn’t for everyone. Do you already have an AR or is this your first?

I would suggest getting a rifle with no frills from BCM, Daniel Defense or Noveske:D. Then change it up as you see a need. As for optics I can only give you first hand knowledge on Aimpoints. They have excellent battery life and do what theyre supposed to. I also have a Barska 1-4x in a Larue mount waiting for a BCM Dissy:ph34r:.
I have a Vltor upper on a Mega lower with a Noveske barrel and I am very happy. There are tons of choices, I would go with a Noveske factory second lower if I had to do it again. They are only seconds because of a cosmetic issue. I would suggest reading a lot here and honestly going through the pic threads to see what you like. Also check out the equipment exchange, I found a buddy a great deal on an SBR upper. Hope that helped.
