I have a friend that works at a gun shop and he just got an EoTech in from a police department trade. He doesn’t know the model (does it say the model on the optic somewhere?) and all the info he provided me was a side picture and the fact that it does not take AA batteries. I’d like to buy it at the price he’s offering, but I would like to know the model first.

Looks like an XPS. How much does he want for it? I would check the bottom for the Eotech manufacturing and serial number sticker. You can contact the company and get the info from that. Be aware there are counterfeits out there.
That looks like a 511 or a 551. Takes N cell batteries.

Need to see the back to be sure which one but it definately takes the N cells.
It’s not an XPS, the XPS takes a 123, and the casing runs perpendicular to the rifle.

I would avoid it, as the 511/551’s have the worst battery life of any of the Eotech models available. Save up and get the new XPS2-0.

It looks just like the Clone I fell for. If it has a red and (GREEN) Reticle it’s a Clone. If it has a f on the left side lower rear, it’s a Clone, I was told. If it takes 4 little battries, it’s a Clone. Mainly, it it has the (GREEN) Reticle it has to be a Clone as Eotech does not make one with GREEN. Hope it’s not but if it is, no problem, make’s a great paint gun sight. On the bottom there should be the Eotech Id # and info. I traded it to a guy that wanted it and I got a Red Dot. He was told that it was a Clone, and is a good friend of mine. :rolleyes:
I forgot, also if you turn it on and look in the glass from the front and see some light, it’s a Clone. :rolleyes:
