After running a single point for years I have just switched to a vtac 2 point. Mostly because it was an option the department gave when issuing the new rifles.
So far with a couple range sessions I think I am converted, especially when in regular uniform. The tac vests we have kept the single point from banging parts of me I didn’t want banged but in regular dress it would bang around bad.
Can someone school me on the advantages of the different attachment points? Currently I have it on the side loop at the fsb and the top of the rear stock. This is what the companies video shows for mounting. Any benefit to moving closer to the receiver on the front, back or both?
Before I buy a couple other mounts to try it I figured I would tap the collective intelligence.
Thanks
I have been trying an adjustable sling attached to the right rear of the buttstock near the top and attached to a swivel mounted to the FSB. My carbine is a 16" middie. It interferes with getting my carbine up into my “workspace” to change magazines. It has been suggested I move the front sling mount to just in front of the receiver
Kinda found the same here.
On the + side, with the front point moved closer to the receiver it seems a bit easier/quicker to drive the muzzle around, as opposed to a sight mounted sling that while giving the ability to tension things up for greater accuracy can slow things down for the very same reason.
I have been messing with all of this myself and still do not know what I like. I currently have mine attached out front my the front sight and it attached at the rear of the receiver.
Having it attached at the rear of the receiver makes it easier for my to swithc to my left shoulder with the sling on, but also seam to in the way of my right hand when shooting right handed.
