Daughter and fam flying in tonight! Will be a great day/weekend. Even in NY I have plenty of fireworks and sparklers to keep the grand-kids happy!! Happy 4th of July everyone!

Just flew back home from Portland international through OāHare. Despite the shitty weather and the numerous flight delays, I felt the sense of pride of this country because people were genuinely happy to be alive and in a celebratory mood. Regardless, it is good to be back home in Indiana. Or maybe Iām just severely jetlagged and fatigued. The older I have gotten, the more rebellious and free spirited Iāve become. Rebellion day. Sounds perfect.

Since July 4th is supposed to go out with a bang, my original plan was to spend an intimate evening with the Latina bassist Alejandra Villarreal.
Alas, I came to the realization that: 1) I am old enough to be her grandfather. 2) That the band is currently on tour in Europe. 3) That for a purely American holiday it would be more appropriate to hook up with an American.
I have therefore reached out to Sydney Sweeney, but so far she has not responded. I am starting to suspect that she will not be getting back to me 
However, the wife and I did go to a really top-notch firework show Friday night. And there was a P-51 Mustang doing fly overs, which was pretty cool to hear and see. So all in all it was a nice 4th and I hope the gang here at M-4 all had a pleasant day. 
We enjoyed our Parade, then went to a Gun Show then home for BBQ Chicken

I have not been to gun show recently. Did you see anything new, rare, or just plain interesting?
I used to hit the shows regularly, but the last few I have been to seemed pretty monotonous. Table after table of off-brand ARs and boring old Glocks. Oh, and cheap Chinese knives and Ninja crap.
Lots of New(er) Pistolās, fewer ARās than usual and fewer Jerky/Candle sellers than usual. We went on the 4th, so they likely have more folks today.
Very Few Revolvers and all at a premium price.
Can someone explain why gun shows always have table after table of people selling boxes of assorted ammo for typically 20-30% more than what you can buy it off the shelf at Bass Pro or Fleet Farm? Thereās also usually boxes of beat up old milspec AR mags or Pmags also marked for more than they are brand new. And this usually describes 70% of all tables at the show. Who buys this stuff?

Here in WA gunshows are largely a memory thanks to Universal Background Checks crippling the shows that kept Washington Arms Colectors going - and WAC was our most effective pro-gun lobbying group. Similar prblems to NRA, but nothing to draw in new members or get an āElect A New NRAā revolt movement going.
Soon, WAC will only be a memory, and our defense will largely have to be FPC since SAF is largely a sustainment operation for Alan Gottlieb, albeit one that gets results. (SAF rents offices in Gotliebās building, it uses his direct mail firmā¦)
I just watched the entire fireworks and concert in DC on YouTube and I must say I was very impressed. The fireworks was like nothing else and the military members on stage performing were outstanding; the whole thing was just fun and seeing so many Americans there celebrating the 4th just filled me with pride. Iām glad all the washed up liberal bands originally slated bowed out because of TDS- the military band was amazing.

Itās kind of confusing when a Statement of Love, Pride and Patriotism is mistaken for Politicās. and Political pandering.
A lot of People may not agree with the current POTUS, but thatās not reason not to love your Country or respect itās Citizens.or even enjoy the 4th of July.
And awful lot of Democratic Americans need to stop and pull the stick out of their ass and come to understand how America works. You have to give something more valid than your opinion on how to run things around here before anyone is going to take you serious.
In my experiance and having spoken to a lot of People, The People who hate America have isolated themselves to a City County and State and have seldom Moved out of their isolated Comfort Zone, They donāt keep up with current events, they donāt read books and they are handicapped by a State issued Educational Certificate that passes for an Education.
If you havenāt seen Socialism at work in Europe, please dont laud itās Value and Worthines, because I have. Iāve lived it. I donāt need you to Gild the Lilly and give me the Ivy Covered Hall of Princetonās View Point, I have experianced it.
Iāve stuck my Fingers in the holes in the Walls made by Socialist Machine Guns as the Socialist Armies fired at Civilians on the Streets., So please dont tell me of Socialisms Love for Us.
Iāve fed starving Kids my food when Socialism failed them and left them starving in the streets.
So, unless you can physically show me a valid and better system, you need to sit back, have a drink and STFU about America..

There are things to disagree and quibble over, always will be. But those who generally oppose what this administration has accomplishedā¦ nah. I have little in common with such folks in regard to the America they want. At least the hate-America crowd has ripped off their masks for any and all to see. They simply do not comprehend the difference between the inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness vs the misguided notion of having the right to demand government hand it to them, which ultimately results in misery for all. Most seem too fucked up in the head from left-wing kook schooling and media to be persuaded otherwise, and Iām not the least bit interested in them learning a lesson the hard way by flushing America down the commie toilet. They must be defeated at the ballot box.
