“Battle belts” for most of us are for competition, classes where draw from concealment isn’t allowed (or based on po-po training), disaster preparation (lol), or play acting, or some combination of the above.
My dumb Q. I purchased the belt and a Safariland QLS mid rise holster attachment. Issue I have is, I don’t see any way to get that buckle on the belt through belt slots on the QLS. Buckle is way too large to pass through. Is there some way to remove the buckle to pass belt through the QLS slots then put buckle back on? Did I get the wrong QLS? I don’t see different belt slide slot sizes offered.

Uh… can’t you just remove the male end of the Cobra buckle and slide the UBL on? The adjustment side, that is? All their promo pics show the guys running the UBLs for their holsters, and the advertising video clearly shows that the male end of the Cobra buckle being on the side that’s very easy to slide off. FYI, QLS is the fork system, so the fork and the locking plate, UBL is the belt loop you mount the plate on.

That’s the only was to do it I guess. Sure wish I had not added all the molly attached stuff first that will now have to remove and put back on, but that is at least a fix. Thanx.
LOL. Welcome to the world of battle belts. Don’t worry, you’ll find something else that has to go on the other side of the holster and have to do it again.
Now you tell me you f-ers! What a PITA. Another thing I’m learning, properly kitting out a belt is expensive! I had some of what I needed already, but much I didn’t, and it’s adding up real fast. I’ll easily be 1k in into it when done. Will be nice to have at the range, courses, etc in the most unlikely case of needing a grab and go option as civilian in STFT scenarios, but an expensive one.
Q: for those of you using the Safariland system on their battle/Batman belt, are there are holster brands you are using/recommend not Safariland brand compatable? If not, guess I will now have to purchase a holster from them, figured I’d ask before I did.
I bought a T-rex non-retention holster that uses the Safariland mount to use in 3 gun. Easy to switch over to the level 3 retention for other things.

I found what I wanted with an actual Safariland holster, and as mentioned also have a TRex Ragnarok.
Besides that, I think there may be a number of companies that make their holsters compatible, as it seem ls ubiquitous.
LAS Concealment is safariland compatible.
That’s what I ordered with additional QLS so I can use it for CCW also at least.
Forgot about QVO Tactical, specifically their “secondary OWB”.
Pretty much this, I ditched the whole “battle belt” set up a long time ago. Either Im using my EDC/civilian belt or I have a set of party pants next to the rest of the kit with the accoutrement already attached directly to the belt or pants. If you have time to throw on a plate carrier and helmet you have time to change a pair of pants. With far less weight and bulk of a inner and outer belt set up.
So think everyone probably agrees with this, and there is a point to be made that people are training for a civil war when they are more likely to get carjacked or run into an intruder in their work or home, but I think having a battle belt isn’t a horrible idea. I trained a lot with Swat guys and they sorta emulate DeltaCagRangerSealRecon in some ways, and I am not a Swat guy let alone a ReconRanger, I was a POG Marine 10 years ago, but there is something to be said about training in a team atmosphere that a belt does lend itself to. I was in and around the George Floyd “mostly peaceful” riots, and had the Highway I was on shut down in a matter of minutes when I was attempting to get to my home. All of that showed me that having some sort of on body sustainment isn’t a bad idea, and I can run out of my Vertx bag for most things but when I work wearing a dress shirt and slacks and have over 30 miles to get home, a few pouches on the belt and my hips to help carry the weight make some sense. Not that I would try to be overt with it unless the situation dictated.
I’d much prefer to have the battle belt ready to go if needed in a civilian environment, as well as it’s one stop use for range, courses, etc then a dedicated pair of pants with similar set up. I don’t have a helmet or chest rig, and such as this time and for me at least, those have less utility over all than those do.
I may add such things in the future dependent on emerging events and such, but I’m probably better prepared for realistic issues that could arise where I live in SHTF/civil unrest types of things, vs say full Road Warrior level stuff.
I’m just here to say that ordering down a size for an AXL Eclipse only works if you haven’t gotten fat. Looks like my wife is going to have a new belt.
