Senators Push For Guns In National Parks - Jacksonville News Story - WJXT Jacksonville
62% Yes!
Me included…
The right to personal defense, should not be limited to outside of Park boundaries.
The National Mall, besides being crime ridden at night, is also a National Park.
If you have a concealed carry permit then why not? If you have one (ccw) are you the problem or is it the guy with bad intensions who wants to pay a visit to your camp site late one night? Laws like this one only help the CRIMINAL!
It’s not, most National Parks are full of pointy sticks. ![]()
Virginia’s Sen. Weber and 46 other Senators signed a Dec. 14, 2007 letter to the Secretary of the Interior regarding removing the prohibitions of law abiding citizens from carrying firearms on lands managed by the Nationa Park Service and Fish and Wildlife Service.
68% now!!!
The new rules will go into effect next month.

This will be a serious trip wire if the new Administration tries to change the policy.
I plan on watching this issue.
my senators are on that signed list I must email and thank them .![]()
Apparently the Brady Bunch has filed a law suit to stop the January 9th date.
Regardless of what the lawyers decide I’m not changing my habit of carrying when hiking and camping.
M4arc,
Where did you hear about the Brady Gang thing?
I ran a quick news search.
This lawsuit is being reported by multiple media organizations starting today .
The good news is that no injunction has been granted.
Straight from the jackasses website: www.bradycampaign.org/media/release.php?release=1097
Like I said, regardless of what these lawyers in DC decide I’m not changing my mind.
I will predict they lack standing to bring this suit and it will be dismissed.
Either way…![]()
I did find this particular quote extremely funny:
The lawsuit said members of the Brady Campaign will no longer visit national parks and refuges “out of fear for their personal safety from those who will now be permitted to carry loaded and concealed weapons in such areas.”
Damn the bad luck ![]()
Yeah, the wild animals in the park will be dissapointed that the North American Pussy-Sheep is now off their menu.
Sounds like the Brady Bunch is losing it.
If they are too scared to visit a National Park , how can they visit the state
( or states ) that surround the Park?
Weak . Very weak.
The new reg’s are designed to make Park rules match the applicable state laws.
So I guess CCW states are too dangerous to visit.
It goes to show that nothing will deter these pus bags from infringing on our rights. One thing that concerns me though. Back in 1993-1994 there was a spate or mass shootings that took place and IIRC these incidents convinced the politicos to cave in and vote for the AWB. I am concerned now that the “Santa Killer” and a few others may have a similar effect.
The lawsuit said members of the Brady Campaign will no longer visit national parks and refuges “out of fear for their personal safety from those who will now be permitted to carry loaded and concealed weapons in such areas.”
EXCELLENT! I won’t have to deal with the assholes. (I work for the NPS)…
