Is there a less expensive way to get parts than buying them from a 3rd party? I want a smooth Glock 17 trigger for my Glock19. I’ve already tried getting one from Glock, but they won’t sell to regular people, even though I said I’d have an armorer install it.
I just don’t like the idea of paying more for something that I should be able to buy straight from the manufacturer. I can understand for restricted things like the (-) connector and maritime spring cups, but for standard parts I don’t like it. What’s the cheapest way to get parts for Glocks? Is 3rd party my only option?
I am a GLOCK Armorer but still sometimes buy my parts through Brownells. Some are more expensive, some are the same price, and I think some have even been less. All are faster to my door than ordering direct from GLOCK. My parts orders generally take a couple of weeks to arrive and I live less than an hour away from Smyrna.
My advice … order from Brownells and throw some other stuff in your cart at the same time to be more efficient with the shipping charges. You know there’s more stuff you need anyway. Besides, we are only talking a couple of $ price diff in the part anyway, right?
The other thing you can do is join GSSF and sign up for the Armorer’s Course. The GSSF membership is $35 per year and the AC is $150 but gets you certified for 3 years. You can shoot matches, order parts direct, and get discounted pistols. GSSF members get 1 per year and Armorer’s get an additional 2 per year at the LE price. It’s well worth it. I really enjoyed the class myself.
Most gun manufacturers aren’t setup with the facilities, personnel, and equipment necessary for end user sales. It costs a lot of money to inventory, take orders, process payments, and ship small pieces to individuals, which is why the third party people who do it sell a lot of different items (to compensate for their costs in volume).
The fantasy that something would, or should be cheaper direct from the manufacturer is just that, a fantasy. Distributors and retail sellers exist in every industry for a reason.
Hopefully someone like Grant or Paul will be along shortly to explain in detail what a hassle and cost it is from their firsthand perspective. In the meantime, recognize that the prices at [insert preferred web distributor/retailer here] are generally about as good as it can ever get without you personally working at the Glock factory.
I am a Glock armorer and just had occasion to make my first order of parts via Glock. Took almost six weeks to get in a variety of small parts. Based on my conversations with Brandon at Glock, this is not outside the norm. Then, they shipped my order in two different packages. The second package contained three trigger pins!!! And it arrived one day after the first package.
Basically, the whole process was antiquated and inefficient. The people at Glock were nice enough to deal with though. Henceforth, I’ll likely use Brownells unless I am just ordering spare parts and time is not a factor.
There was a guy who ran a small gun parts business out of his house for the life of me I cant remember his name. You can find him on gun broker. Has fantastic deals on Glock parts. Hope this helps.

I’ve had good luck calling the Glock parts department and asking for what part I needed nicely. They have never charged me, But this is coming to a end as they give away thousands of dollars worth of parts every year and somebody over there looked at the bottom line.
Brownells and Lone Wolf are also great and fast for Glock factory parts.
I have had very good service from http://glockparts.com. They have good prices and fast shipping. You can get just about every factory part straight from them.
