Does anyone have any recommendations for sights for a Glock 17 with suppressor? I just ordered my SWR Octane.
Thanks,
Dan

if you want tall ones, the most popular has been Amerigo tall sights.
At SHOT, Trijicon just released tall HD night sights that look like a great option.
FWIW, Most people I know just use stock sights and sight “through the can”.
Ameriglo is my Glock Sight of choice. ![]()
I can look through the can with my 10-8s. But the Hienies/AmeriGlos are great too.
If you can wait just a bit, Trijicon has new HD suppressor sights. I don’t know when the “actual” release date or if they’re available now…but they are an option.
Ameriglo has a bunch like previously mentioned. I just use stock sights and “see thru” them.
WTF? No way, Heinie Tactical no doubt…
I use trijicon’s HD night sights for my osprey 9 and they don’t come close to clearing the suppressor. I would say that the top of the front sight meets the top of the suppressor, barely .Honestly I don’t see the need for tall sights, it’s too high above the bore of the glock 17 and you might have to compensate for accuracy. Just my two cents.

To me it depends on what you want your gun to do. Does the Octane have an adjustment device like AAC’s ASAP, that changes POI? If not, you might want to consider how much divergence between suppressed and unsuppressed POI you’re willing to accept (if the gun isn’t dedicated to suppressed use only that is). I have Dawson Precision adjustable sights with fiber optic inserts on my G-17. I can go from 115gr ammo unsuppressed to 147gr subs suppressed, with just 4 clicks of elevation to get the exact same POI at 25 yards. If you need night sights, Meprolight has adjustable tritium sights that are tall enough to clear a suppressor as well.
If it’s a hard use gun and adjustable sights are out of the question for you, I’d consider getting some tall blank sights (Ameriglo has a tall serrated sight w/o inserts) and file the front until you get the optimal POI, then send it to someone to have the tritium element installed. Keep in mind that you may have to make some ammo concessions if you want well regulated fixed sights though.
I’ve never had a problem, ‘sighting through the can’. I’m not a professional silhouette shooter though…
Cool…
Tall sights will create fitment problems with most, if not all holsters. As others have stated, learning to “sight through” your suppressor may be a better option.
I disagree! I shoot a lot suppressed, YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO ACCURATLY AIM YOUR WEAPON. Yeah, you could look down your suppressor but realistically don’t be cheap. Buy the correct sights if you shot suppressed a lot. My p30 with tall sights fit my ALS holster fine. Now finding a holster that will work with suppressor on is a different story…
