Curious…I put my new DNTC compensator on my AR and WOW am I getting blasted good with gas now. I didnt even use to smell it and it did not irritate my eyes with the stock Comp, but now it is coming back hard. Do you all have this amount of gas hittn you all in the eyes and mouth?

The gasbuster, while nice, may not help you all that much. You really need to use the rtv trick.

i think he really needs to find out why his gun is sending so much gas rearward. it’s not normal. the gasbuster and the RTV trick are just diluting symptoms.
The DNTC claimed it could cause higher gas pressure and that claim seems to be true, but the Vltor gas block gas hole and my barrel hole are perfectly aligned+the gas block is extrememly secure so I dont see any reason, will see if the gas buster works!
heres the gun…
RTV trick=buy a tube of hi temp silicone gasket sealer. Clean the area between the charging handle and upper (the little “C” shaped gap). Put a piece of scotch tape on the upper. Work the sealant into the gap and smooth it out with a plastic knife or whatever. Clean-up with paper towel or rag to look pretty. Let stand overnight and be happy!
But i don’t know why you get excessive gas blowing back…
I installed the PWS FSC556 on my S&W a couple weeks ago. I finally got some good range time this week with it, and did notice allot more gas as well. To be clear I never smelled anything with the A2, or Vortex, and now I smell a small amount with the FSC556. However it is nowhere near as bad as running suppressed. I shaved my FSB down, so the gas system is the same.
I’ve been pondering getting a gas buster for awhile anyway, so I guess thats what I will get now. I just hate to fork out $90 for one.
Gas smell or not, the FSC556 was a pleasure to shoot with. I did notice it was a bit louder, but not as loud as I had expected. It all but eliminated the small muzzle flip. I always considered myself kinda quick engaging multiple targets, multiple times with an Aimpoint. Now the follow ups, double taps, ect are very quick and on the money.
Over all was impressed with the FSC556. I didn’t get to shoot it at night yet, but I will real soon. Ive watched the videos of the night fire, and it seems like it does a good job at flash suppressing as well.

I love my gas-buster. With the FSC556 I couldn’t notice anything different, then again, I always run the GB. The RTV trick works well too, but I just prefer something metal over something rubber when it comes to this application.
