Back in the days of the old Ft. Harmar range, there was a “don’t-shoot house” up on the hillside above the backstop.
Some silly person had built a house right there. I’m pretty sure the range had been there first too, since it had been there since the 1800’s. He must have gotten a good price on the lot.

Very nice. 
I was lucky enough to take a carbine class with Ken at the end of March in ATL. We did two passes (one at night and one during the day) through a shoot house very similar to one pictured. It was a great experience and it was my first time running a long gun in a shoot house. Ken is a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to taking many more classes with him in the future.

I remember back in '95 or so, the last year before we started doing IDPA at Ft. Harmar, Ken had set up a little run’n’gun IPSC match. We had a battlefield pickup (UZI and a Makarov), a run up a ramp and then a jump off of it, and several other things. A fellow there had a hat with a brown IPSC target and three white targets on it. All of them had two to the body and one to the head. The inscription read “I shoot hostages/collaborators.”
I remember thinking it wasn’t the smartest thing to wear in public, but hey, to each his own.

That looks like a fun place to spend some extra time, no doubt.
Interesting that there is light visible between some of the timbers, yet not so much between others. Also see that some of the interior wall timbers appear thinner and to have been double stacked, perhaps to allow for some type of stop in between?
Only reason I even ask is because it seems like an overt risk to anyone outside the structure to have gaps in the walls, but I know these guys are pro’s and have likely accommodated somehow.
No one is allowed to stand outside the shoothouse. It is also enclosed in a Earth walled dam.

Do only the exterior walls have gaps? Are the interior walls solid so that you can run multiple rooms at a time? Would be curious as to size and costs?
The rooms are all double walled.
Don’t know the exact size, but the cost was around $40k I believe.
