Front sight base/lug for US bayonets

So I called Olympic arms today, just because they are close and I could drive there if I needed to, and I asked how I could get just a bayonet lug. Nothing else. I want to tac it to an AK47 so it will accept M9/10 bayonets. ( I have a 5in flash suppressor on on AK that is tac welded and the diameter is perfect for US “stickers” So a lug tac welded underneath it below the AK sight would be perfect. Problem is OLY told me I would need to order the whole AR front sight base…then what? cut the lug off?
Anyone have any other ideas? I attached some pictures so you all can get the idea of what I am trying to do. Who the hell just has a lug? My camera sucks so the pics aint real clear but you get the general idea I hope…and we all know that with the current administration a war is just around the corner…

Get me the lug dimensions plus whatever tab you want added, and I’ll make ya one for $20 shipped.

I have no idea what they would be. It is just the standard AR lug.

I don’t have one to measure. Depending on how much of a hurry you want it, I’m probably going to be around a few of them in the next week or so.

Is there a market for a bolt-on tab like this? Something that could be screwed to a gas block that otherwise lacked provision.

Well I know that Cheaper than dirt has a bolt on for AR’s but that wont work for the AK platform. It would have to be welded. And this is just an idea, not sure if it will work but dont know why it would not. Hell an American knife on an AR would be awesome. And I am sure there is a market. If you have a longer flash suppressor on the AK instead of the normal slant break.

I’d personally rather find a baseball bat than try to attach a knife to the barrel of a non-functional rifle - but that’s just me.

What’s the problem with welding the bolt-on one on?

By non-functional I assume you mean in (un) accurate. Exactly why it needs a sticker.
You find me a weld on one and I will buy it. The bolt on ones are designed for the barrel of an AR and stainless. Kinda hard to weld.

But maybe I can cut the lug off? Just thinking out loud.

I mean the only time I’d ever be inclined to get that close to someone I didn’t want breathing would be due to not having any ammo left, or the gun no longer functioning when pulling the trigger.

I’ve done bayonet training in the Army - I can think of dozens of methods of CQB options I’d prefer. A baseball bat would come first, because I value my rifle’s accuracy and I don’t consider it a very good club (even with the pointy attachment). I also feel you’re more agile with the knife in hand, rather than stuck to the end of a 8# awkwardly shaped club.

Admittedly, there are people I’ve encountered who certainly deserve a butt-stroke to the head. I’d still rather not use my rifle to deliver it.

I’ll try to remember to bring a caliper with me when I get my barrel nut torqued. The guy who’s helping me with that has about a dozen ar’s - surely one of them must have the lug.

and we all know that with the current administration a war is just around the corner…

Interesting logic. Surf parts on the internet, add on bayonet lugs are for sale for AWB butchered AR’s built during the ban. They attach by the pins.
