… is universal light attachment secure enough, or you’d recommend rail lock?
The pistol in question is G19, and the light is X300. I need to order my RCS holster, but I don’t have my pistol at hand so I can’t just go and test it.
Moderators: if you feel that this belongs to lights section, please move it.
I install the rail lock on my X200 and X300s, for all applications.
Reason is, at a instructor class my X200 (secured by the standard lock) fell off my the rail on my 1911. Twice. This convinced me that the rail lock is a good idea.
3 yrs later, the rail lock 100% for sure retains the light on the pistol.
The rail on the 1911 is in spec at best as I can tell. Don’t know if perhaps it was tolerance stacking with the rail, or with the light.
I also run X300’s on all my glocks, and my AR’s for that matter. After thousands of rounds through the glocks, universal attachment is still 100% solid.
