Has anyone heard any new news regarding a civilian release? Everything I have found dates back two years.
Bonus question. Did usasoc dump the mk20 or are they just waiting to field it?

The talk on FNForum is that FN keeps going back and forth on if they’re going to make a civi MK20 SSR or not. I would not keep my hopes up

Such as what? I would like to know what the issues are from verified sources. I’m not knocking you, but I have read the opposite on this board a few years back.
I would love to see this rifle on the civilian market, along with a version of the SCAR that possesses a non-reciprocating charging handle.
Accuracy and consistency issues. Apparently it’s either hot or cold. A few guys have commented favorably but four or five had mean things to say.
What ammo were they using? M118LR? I believe the barrel twist rate is 1:12 on these rifles, per FN’s 2014 catalog.
That’s a shame. I like my SCAR. I would imagine that a gas gun (like Knight’s ECR) would always have an accuracy advantage over a SCAR Mk20 due to the SCAR’s greater reciprocating mass.
175s shoot just fine in a 1:12. I’d imagine they were using issue ammo. One guy said
It wouldn’t do under a minute.
Heard the same about the Mk20 not being able to hold MOA with match ammo.
