$4000

Cheapest I’ve seen. Let me know if you get it. They only have one…

They’re good people. Thats the third one he’s gotten in. My co-worker bought the first one. I’d love to try one out but the prices are just silly on these.

Yep. 2800 dollars better than an average ar-15???..im not so convinced

That price is just criminal.

Hey Top. A dealer at the Gwinett Gun Show (Atlanta) last Saturday had the only SCAR at the show on a table marked $4500!!!

Do you know if they ended up selling it?

wow, $4 Grand for a SCAR??? the guys at my local gun store had them running for around $2 grand. http://www.kingdomarms.com/rifles.html i got some pics when the first ones came in. they don’t jack up the rates on anything and are good people. dunno when they’ll have them back in stock, but it’d be good to keep a tab on em.

FN had the SCAR light and heavy at the Blue Ridge Mountain 3 Gun Championship. I got to handle (but not shoot) both of them. I don’t see it being worth $4G. I would imagine that more will be available in a year or two and value will go way down. If you pay top dollar now, I would flip it or shoot the hell of your prized asset that will depreciate faster than a new chevy.

Maybe I’m wrong. Time will tell.

Most of the weapons I have ever seen never depreciate…can you name some that took a complete nosedive after being on the market?

theJave,
I did not hang around long enough to know if it ever sold at any price.

The price is that high because of their military sales IIRC. They cannot sell a similar rifle for less than what they charge the .mil

I enjoyed putting rounds through one of the SCAR-Ls last year, but not enough to drop $4k on one

I can’t think of any particular weapon that has and I wish my 401k would have held value like most of my firearms.

Here is what I was thinking. Some people may be paying $4K now because supply is low and demand is high. If…and that’s a big “if”…FNH is able to produce larger quantities of the civilian version in the near future, it is highly likely that the retail price will be in the $2K range for the exact same rifle because the supply will be much higher and simple economic laws will follow.
I don’t know of any firearms that has been through this type of supply/demand scenario in the past.

Perhap we are looking at it right now with the prices that many are paying for a standard AR? Once production catches up with demand, we may see prices coming down again (perhaps a small percentage) depending on firearm legislation.

same here. maybe if they get it under $2k.

The MSRP is still in the $2xxx range though…unless I’m horribly mistaken.

Still, if I had the money I would buy it, just to have it

I don’t think it will never go sub-2k. MSRP alone is like $2,400 or $2,800 (I’ve seen both so not sure which one is accurate)

I don’t even know WHAT this gun is… let alone why it’d be priced at $4,000.

The only way a dealer can get the SCAR is to buy a package deal from their distributor. The dealer has to invest more than $10,000 in other FN goodies to get the SCAR.

Until a dealers can order the SCAR by itself, you will see these high prices.

Zanders has the Scar listed at $2,128.73.

Wow, good catch K-9! The dealer where I saw the $4500 SCAR had LOTs of FNPs and those 5.7mm FN pistols too.
