Flock cameras paying off

It is a fun way to go for a person of a particular personality type and there really aren’t any consequences for the behavior.

As I’ve mentioned before here, that should get him a perjury charge, but the worst that is likely to come of it is Brady/Giglio listing.

Peons can gain access to the Flock footage so maybe not as fun of an idea.

Researched FLOCK & found this.

It seems like she didn’t do it. She’s just really bad at defending herself against allegations of crime in person or failed to take it seriously.

That Police Dept should be VERY ashamed of itself. They should apologize and attempt a reconciliation with her & their service area.

Does anyone know the standard on how these cameras are installed? Do local authorities ask for them to come in? Does the company approach locals? Or does flock just go around installing them? I’ve been watching them pop up a lot the past two years. And this is in the rural Deep South.

I couldn’t find a solid answer as to who approaches who first, but I suspect a mix like any other business.

Flock markets the information from the cameras as a subscription to private and public entities.

If it is on private property, the info may, or may not, get forwarded on to a .gov agency. I am not sure that if “Bob’s Cars of Jonestown” clicks the “share with police” option whether Jonestown PD instantly gets the info from the camera on Bob’s lot or if Jonestown PD has to get their own subscription.

If a camera is on public/.gov property, at least in theory, some .gov agency had to ok it.

The court case deciding that the public has a right to access the information purchased from Flock by a .gov agency followed by the agency discontinuing their subscription is very interesting.

I seriously doubt the .gov agency was concerned about protecting the privacy of people driving down a public road in full view of everyone else in public, so one has to wonder what the motivation was.

Brother, if you’re not a psychologist or trained interrogator, trying to call things as if you were will make you look like a weatherman.

Near as often as not, people react in ways that one might consider odd. Their behavior is much more predictable while in their normal routine with no surprises or changes in stress level. Even then……humans are weird.

Same reason talkaround channels exist. Desire to have a monopoly on info subject to scrutiny.

I was just coming here to share that AND point out the agency that knowingly hired the problem are going to continue to enable and support his shoddy behavior.

Everyone up the ladder should be fired for claiming they are sending an adult to training that will correct his dishonesty problem.

No-one should ever willing speak to anyone from law enforcement without a lawyer present period. Nothing good can come of it.

Chicks dig that stuff !

Numerous corrupt official use a screwed up AI system to justify kidnapping and prosecution.

I watched the entire video. From what I saw, it appears that the officer set too low of a threshold for the arrest and relied too much on the AI software. It didn’t appear to me that he was malicious and there was no evidence presented that he was corrupt. Corruption would mean that he was being dishonest for money or personal gain. One might conclude that he was incompetent, but I’d have to see more of his police work to draw that conclusion myself. The AI software obviously isn’t as accurate as it claims to be. It can never be 100% because there is such a thing as identical twins. An arrest of an innocent person isn’t kidnapping. Kidnapping is the taking of a person by force to obtain a ransom or something else. Nothing was gained by the casino or the officer. As for the casino arresting the victim, it’s almost certainly a false arrest. I foresee his attorney suing the casino, the AI software company and the police department. He’ll probably be successful against the first two, but not against the latter. In my opinion, if a private party (not police) tries to arrest you, you are under no obligation to comply if you are innocent. They would have had to fight me to get me into handcuffs. I think that the host of the video was misleading in one regard. It appeared that the officer suspected Killinger was the person who was trespassed and had used one of two ID’s that was fake. Therefore, proving that he was Killinger wouldn’t have meant that he was innocent of trespassing or providing a false identification. I do wonder why Killinger’s attorney didn’t simply find the person on the other ID and get the case dismissed before trial. Of course, the police could have also contacted him. That goes back to the incompetence issue. BTW, $1,800 is dirt cheap for a defense attorney. I would be worried about having competent representation at that price for anything other than a traffic ticket.

The officer and the prosecutor are corrupt and are benefiting from the kidnapping of Killinger.

Literally, state what benefit they are receiving. Look up the definition of kidnapping under Nevada law. A person who has lawful authority can’t be guilty of kidnapping. This absolutely excludes the officer. It likely also includes the security team at the casino because they are also afforded the power to detain people they believe have committed crimes in their establishment. Being wrong doesn’t mean that the casino didn’t have lawful authority. At the same time, being wrong likely means that the casino will rightly suffer the financial consequences of a lawsuit by the victim.

They are furthering their careers. Toss the judge in to that mix also for allowing it to continue.

They weren’t just wrong, they ignored anything that didn’t support what they wanted to do.

Citizens arrest over felonies exists in Nevada also. Do you think Nevada authorities would be ok with Killinger arresting someone after blowing off every indicator his victim had committed no crime?

I am sure Nevada police are effectively exempt from kidnapping like police in many(perhaps most) areas are effectively exempt from committing perjury.

It’s hard to see how arresting a person who can ultimately prove their innocence would further careers, but there would be no way to prove such a motivation assuming it was true. If such a low bar was set for proving kidnapping, then virtually all arrests that end with a dismissal or acquittal would be considered kidnapping.

That’s poor policing and perhaps incompetence, but it’s not criminal.

No, because he doesn’t have lawful authority to arrest according to Nevada law. If someone without lawful authority decides to make a citizen’s arrest, they are subject to criminal prosecution if they’re wrong. See the example in the video below.

They are not exempt from being prosecuted for kidnapping nor perjury. It’s just that evidence has to exist that fits the elements of the crime in order for them to be prosecuted. In this case, there is no evidence of either. Words have meaning, especially in the legal world. There’s no reason to overstate what happened here. The ignoring of evidence, assuming that an additional felony was committed (connection at DMV to get a fake ID) and overconfidence in software that doesn’t meet legal standards is bad enough in and of itself. Something should certainly be done about that. However, making legal claims that aren’t supported by the evidence only interferes with such efforts.
