This is the first footage I have seen.
All-in-all, I am very happy I went with the 556-212 models and didn’t stress over it.
Something’s wrong. The video stopped 1/3 of the way in and she was clothed.
From the shots they took in the first seconds of the video it seemed like the AAC was either quieter, had a better tone, or both.
I read about the reduced first round flash of the SOCOM, but honestly it seemed about the same… the AAC had its flame at the very front of the suppressor, whereas the SOCOM had the flame appear about 6" or so in front of the suppressor.
Sound from a video is pretty difficult. I bet in person the only difference is tone. The tone was a bit different, and AAC and Surefire typically do differ, there.

The new cans are neat, but I have no regrets with the 212. And I saved ~$350-400 by going with the older model.
I wonder which one has less zero shift.
I almost think that’s a moot point. The Surefire may have less, or may not, but regardless, to take advantage of that you need a correctly, precisely threaded barrel, and not many of those exist in the mass-production world, so minimal zero-shift has just as much chance as keeping you off-target as “less minimal shift” has of “putting you back on target”, so to speak.
Personally, I buy Surefire for the mount, and because it suppresses just fine compared to other top-end suppressors, and is plenty durable, etc. The mount is what sets it apart for me, the rest is just “par” in that league.

I think you can tell that the tone’s are different, but that’s it. Mainly, I was interested in the foot-ball sized flash coming from the SOCOM.
Barrel length and ammunition? Was that disclosed in the video?
They both look like 11.5" to me. Of course no idea on the ammo. Something between TAP and Tula 
I’m not convinced of anyone making any sort of point by making a video first off regarding sound performance of a suppressed 556 (since they all suck and are loud), and second using a video at an indoor range to compare the two. There are about a million technical reasons that you can’t compare level or tone from a youtube video.
Next, yes, one shot on the surefire does seem to have a large fireball on one of it’s first shots, there are eight shots I saw flash from (in HD) with the AAC can. So… I’m going to suggest that their claims of improved flash suppression are valid. I think this would require more testing to say anything about.

I agree that it’s improved, but they seem to claim “very little/no first- round flash”, unless I have misunderstood the claims. Further, as you’re aware, sometimes flash doesn’t show up on video because it’s so fast. It well could have done more. Like you said, more research required to form a full opinion, but that huge fire-ball on a 16" barrel leads me to think the claims are a bit optimistic…
